Couple of handy SFL ins, Benny Brookman arrived back from London last week so i can only guess he'll front up again for the Brighton Old Scholars (unless anyone out there wants to get in his ear???), and Travis Tedmanson packing it in at South and will be back at the Cockledivers this year. Both association players in past years, Tedmanson leaving South coz of a new job as a personal trainer so he's gonna be in good shape and even harder to catch than previous years!

Porties ruckman (Brown) is currently overseas....not too sure if he will be back for the 08 season.

Not sure Fudd, only know about Tedmanson thru a mate.

I havent followed the SFL too closely for a couple of years (browsing this thread has been good to try and catch up) how did Porties go last year? They seem to have a cycle of one good year followed by a dud. Are they (or anyother team) likely to push to knock out Morphies/Reynella/Brighton/Cove/Valley from their usual top spots?

personally i rated them last year as the best team we played, good structure and run, but from what i seen they didn't really perform against the top sides that well, i think may'be with a few more recruits and a good run they would well be in with a chance...

haven't heard much about Hackham, Marion, shoes, lonsdale, anyone got any news on them have they recruited lost any players, i know Marion lost Mcentee to the Eagles, and that Hackham got a coach from Yank and a couple of players from there too, and how many have Christies lost i heard they lost a CHF and FF this year that could hurt them especially now that Bachy is burning out at Sturt...

My mate from Hackham said they had a new player coach who is supposed to be a fairly handy full forward, so hopefully for his sake he brings some players with him who can actually get the ball down there to him! Unfortunately it sounds like they still dont have the numbers down there and will be relying on juniors again.

I think you'll find Ben Stokes will play at Marion next season, so he'll replace McIntee.

No Backliner, i can confirm my allegiance is to the tasty cheese flavoured snack and and not the Morphy Park Footy Club! :D Not that i have anything against Morphy Park, except its always a pain in the a$$ playing on their ground. I remember seeing someone try to claim a mark after the ball came back in to play off those overhanging trees behind the goals!

I remember when i was playing juniors there and a goal was kicked into the end with the massive tree, my mate was wating for the ball to come down but instead got smacked in the face by a falling branch.....he may have even had to go off for the blood rule.

After speaking with a few Reynella boys in recent times it has become evident that the core group is only sticking around for the big name signings. It has been said most aren't happy with the A-grade coach and his methods. Interesting!
