Yes, I checked with Audi Australia before using it in my car.
My understanding is that most engines can cope with a small to moderate percentage of ethanol itself, but plastic fuel lines and tanks are a big issue, and what dissoves out of them can wreck engines. Back in the WWII days people were known to run motor bikes on whisky according to reports from my parents, but of course tanks and fuel lines were metal then.
The content of some alloys may be an issue perhaps? - metallurgy ins not my area of expertise!
