Andy is spot on.
Aldinga went from Div 2 and being competitive to div 1, the players found the going a little harder and with a couple of other issues also they left, hence the club went through a couple of lean years from which we are still struggling.

I think some ego's got a reality check when we stepped up to Div 1, couldn't find the ball as easy.

Sometimes it is harsh to bag people for leaving a club but these people didn't have good reasons. One of them was a good mate. I went to Aldinga because I came to the city for uni and two friends from college were going to play there. I was not paid. When all the bozos from Adelaide jumped ship I was stuck catching a train from the city to Noarlunga and getting picked up from the train station but I still stuck out the year. The only money I ever took from the club was when I had to catch a Taxi to the ground from the station and Waldo made me take it after he found out.

I left for Kilburn the next year because no-one playing for Aldinga lived in Adelaide and I wanted to train and get better at footy.

Anyone can pick up fat chicks? Sounds like experience talking leggy. It's alright, I'll admit to picking up the odd "cuddly" chick. I have an interesting bell curve theory about this. PM me if you're interested. I never said I was worth any money but I won't lose sleep knowing that I won't get any from the club where you're in charge of finances.

Just didn't like people suggesting I'm a cash whore. No car back then.

Who do you play for leggy? Or do you concentrate on being a clairvoyant making judgements of how much players you've never seen are worth?

Can anyone confirm any further signings so far this summer? Apart from a few rumours we're hearing out at Winefly land it seems its pretty quiet in the SFL.

Are cove talking to anyone? Before this season they made consecutive prelims i think so this season was a step backwards.

If hotdogs is still out there perhaps he could advise us if Brighton have recruited anyone? Also didnt Toddy Johnstone head overseas? Will he be back to play in 08?

Flaggies have announced a new A grade coach. Steve Green ex Langhorne Creek A grade coach and assistant to Tony Fielke at Imperials.

From the announcement:

"Meet The Coach" night next Monday (10th
December) at 6.30pm at the Club. There'll be a quick training session and
then an informal chat with Steve. All A, B, C and U18 players are expected to
attend and we would welcome all New players, U16's and U14's as well. Coaches,
team officials, committee members, parents and club supporters are also very
welcome.

If anyone is keen to have a kick with flaggies next season get yourself there on Monday....

Scottroo, any idea on whether Cooke was offered money to leave the bushpigs, surely not worth much to an already successful team full of his type of player.
