I hate Balak as much as anyone but I'm not sure if these supposed problems exist. Batts was not appointed for his coaching ability but because he was adopting a policy of getting past locals back and playing the local kids. I'd say this worked pretty well over the last two years, and that he is one of the most switched on people at Balak, but now the side is together wouldn't it make sense to get more of a football coach like Andy than the "manager" that Batts was?

Andy Michael premiership coach a few times with Balak, no problems at administration wise. Battle has done a good job over the past 3 years, and there is probadly other reasons why he didnt re-apply.

There was an ad under sporting club vacancies in the career one section of Saturday's Advertiser.

Would be the first time in a while that they have looked outside the club.

With an outside coach would that also mean the Eagles also getting a few inports coming in with the coach as opposed to their traditional locals only teams? Have heard they may be a few quality blokes down next season.

Like you mentioned Valentine has gone but I don't know of any others leaving. I think someone mentioned that Arnold is retiring.

It's fairly late to be without a coach. A large factor with most clubs when choosing a coach is what players he can bring with him. Recently recruiting players is starting earlier and earlier and lots of people have already been signed up.

Having said that, pretty much everyone who has gone to HWE hasn't been recruited purely for money, there usually is another reason. Dunn would have been the last "outsider" to coach, wouldn't he?

What I was told re Eagles coach was that Jazz Wilson had stepped down and Mick Ciccolella appointed but Mick has since changed his mind due to work issues hence the late advertising of position.

Names i've heard mentioned as outs include Jazz, Valentine, Arnold and M.Higgs.

Is Freddy Justin? That's a shame, he is a good bloke.

A Wilson leave Hummocks? Surely not, that is one of the signs of the apocolypse. We'd better all run for cover.

Where are Jazz and Higgsy off to?

Yes, Justin Walker. Wasn't there but from all accounts wasn't pretty.

Not sure where players are off too, I think Jazz is just having a break and Matt may be off to PommyLand again to play Leagues cricket as he has done previously.
