Points are game by game basis. As long us you are within the points system on your team sheet you are fine, so a player like Lynch could be on the books, not play a game and still have no effect on the points system. Players still eligble for junior footy are 0 points so if you have a couple of quality colts get them on board. Good luck team managers this will be a nightmare for you in the first few rounds!
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

I think juniors are worth 0 points so i can see sides playing a colt or 2 to free up a couple of points and if the kid is ready then play on. I fear that they will be throwing kids in there to keep the points down and basically play with 20 players!

The idea of rotating players is good and bad, do you still pay the players even when its there turn to sit out for the week? Do you rest players in form? Players inevitably need a rest but forced resting is not what its all about.

Fair point about payment but I think the main one that people are missing is who sits out the GF because your team has too many points? One thing to miss because your the 22nd or 23rd player at the club but to be in the top 5 at your club and miss out because of a rotating points system? I'd say you'd have trouble keeping that recruit the following year!

Points system is very interesting discussion topic though. Just wondering if the system could be manipulated in any way?

You could rest your regular points earning players and play other points earning players to qualify for finals. This would suit someone like Lynch that could only play a handful of games, yet he could still qualify. It would help teams cover injuries, suspensions etc and give the coaches a bigger squad to choose from which can be beneficial in a tough finals series.

Another point...does the points system apply for B grade? What happens in finals if some points earning players qualify for B grade finals when their A grade doesnt make it?

i have heard from a very reliable source that Thomas from Willunga had an interview with Encounter Bay for the coaching job there when advertised, this source has never given me bad mail and is close to club, he was actually looking for some new blood in there but i hear Bass got the job again which i think is better for the club anyway, Thomo would you have taken Portlock and co with you???

All this talk of Thomas, hes not playing next year as work has become too full on and with his studies winding up next year he is uncertain he can fully commit to football.
Ive personally offered to do 2 of his units of study next year to free up time for the big fella as where would i be without him??

Not sure on the E Bay coaching offer, they certainly sound like they were searching for any sort of replacement for Billy Bass down there. Did they settle due to lack of interest?

Fudd03 I heard that Thomas did infact apply for the role and was interviewed but how in the hell did you find out? It was supposed to be kept tightly under wraps!!
The fear ofcourse being that he didnt get the role and then would return to Willunga, I doubt he would've taken Portlock and co seeing as though they are 2pt players and ofcourse the fact i doubt he even now has told them of his previous coaching aspirations.

Matt Size good pick up! big boy though, what does he weigh 110-120 kg? would be very handy with big pre season under his belt!

Does anyone know who is playing who in trial games yet or is it too early? vs other GSFL teams or other leagues?

Bahahahahahahahahaha ahahahahahahaha!

Re Trials, the Bays want to play Jervois and might have a low key affair against Aldinga, will probably also play a return leg against Lucindale but are also looking to attend the Loxton Pre-season Cup so time will tell as doubt we'd play all of them.
