Mickey mouse game. Beckhams goal showed why he one of the best dead ball specialists EVER. Pure class.
Just wish that Sydney picked up a few injuries

Heart hear Sjabc. Agree with all.

However, Harmes deserves a real belting, one that he might cop on a footy field, for his low act. He showed a total disrespect for the game with the two incidents he was involved in.

Yeah he was a pig. Popovic was soooo close to thumping him ! Wish he did bloody arrogant Yank
I though Becks tackle on that Sydney bloke as a payback was a ripper. He got up and gave him a hug too !!

I'm not sure on the FINAL lineup of Galaxy in the states but if that was there first string side then they
are in BIG trouble.

Landon Donovan dominated. He should go to England or Spain. The MLS is a walk in the park for him

He's played for Bayer Leverkusen but didn't like the German lifestyle and couldn't get enough starts.
He might be on big $$$ for the Galaxy so why move ? He's a regular in the USA team so he can test
himself on the international stage no worries...

That isnt their full strength lineup mate, that Hermes (Herpes) is a central midfielder, so it seems they were missing a couple of CD's.

Also i noticed an ad during the telecast that FIFA 08 has the A LEAGUE in it. May have to spend the 90 odd bucks just for that. Playing as Adelaide U v Manchester U @ Hindmarsh...... :D

my brother has it, and while you get the A-league teams, you dotn get their grounds, but you can do things like say sign Rooney for AU etc.

Sorry, gotta disagree with that. Have you seen the way Becks puts the ball into the area?

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY is as good at putting the ball within millimeters of where they intended it as consistently as Becks. Case in Point: England v Croatia Backs cross to Crouch was absolutely genius. Remember his goal for MU when he scored from his own half but just chipping the ball over the keeper? Then there's the deal ball specials: last night........and who could forget the last minute miracle goal against greece to push England into the 2004 WC finals.

Sorry, but Becks is worth every cent and more. The fact he also has style off the pitch is a fringe benefit. Some of the other ponies at the sharp end of world football could take a lesson or two. Tatts and Spice Girls aside, he's a marketers dream and seems to be a great dad.

Well said DA.
He MAKES the England side look good even if they are shite !!
A true once in a generation footballer. He hasn't the game of a Ronaldinho, nor the scoring power of say a Henry, he can't tackle, nor has real good close in skills, but for sheer presence on a pitch, and those fantastic long balls and free kicks/corners etc he is the KING.
Will have to go down as one of Englands best ever...

Yeah I gotta agree, and being a Liverpool fan it aint easy to say, but anyone out there who reckons Becks has just succeeded by good looks or marriage or anything other than his onfield gift is just plain wrong ... The bloke has unquestionable talent, and barring a run of injury in recent seasons would still be up there with Englands best players.

Beckham is a quality player without being spectacular.

His free kicks and mid-long range shots (like Tuesday night) are so good he gets picked purely for that as he is so dangerous. How good was his switching of the play!!! Playing against the A league players made him look a class above. Donovan was impressive too!

He has become almost bigger than the game itself. All the media hype and appearances. I think the money he earns is extreme but if people are willing to pay it hes a fool to say no. Give something back Becks, im not sure on his charity work but surely he can spare a huge chunk and donate to worthy causes if he doesnt already!

I can't tell you which causes he works with, but I've always been lead to believe that he is VERY generous with his time and money, especially when it comes to charitable works.

I'm a bit confused by your repudiation of my point of view.
You admitted that he is not good at four things(game of Ronaldinho, scoring power of Henry etc...) and only praised him about 2 or 3 aspects.(Sheer presence?! )
If you find more negatives than positives about any subject, then usually its not as good as it seems.
By finding more flaws than faults with Beckham, sort of backs up my argument about style outwheighing substance.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
