It will be good to see how the new recruits perform for the Eagles. I cant wait till after the draft to see if we make any more signings..

Fuller said in the paper we are close to the cap limit. I hope there is enough to sign a hardnut onballer, as I think we desperately need one. Also think we look very thin in the ruck dept.

Perhaps they have recruited more than we are aware of.Plus will the cap come down if the eagles lose players to the afl or some are rookie listed.

Good luck to Craig Taylor. Was thought of highly as a youngster (was named in numerous phantom AFL drafts) but has become a bit of a journeyman now. Would still be only 22-23 and can definately play.

I think you will find there are plenty of bikkies left in the tin to nab a big recruit. The club is looking at three across the border and one inparticular with excellent credentials and recognition, but must wait until all drafting is done. Lindsay, Inkster and Cooper would leave a significant hole in the salary cap.

craig is a top lad and very talented athlete
he has a black belt in martial arts
very sadly nearly 12 months ago he lost his brother in tragic circumstances and it hit him and his family real hard
it did affect his football so he played in the Barossa last year to find himself again
he is only 20-21 I believe
his dad was a very good and very tough forward player who usually kicked a ton every year
Woodville tried getting him in the mid to late 70s

Fergus Watts,what a joke!
So over-rated,thought so much of himself, yet can't play.Proved it going interstate & doing nothing.
His biggest problem was his final for the Eagles he kicked 11 goals, his head got so big,he thought he was a super star & thought he should of been in the starting 18 for the crows.Well if he couldn't get a game at St Kilda,it proves the Crows got that decision right!

Apologies for bouncing this, but having just watched the 2005 SSF and GF replays, my abstract thoughts were "whatever became of Fergus Watts"? Had masses of wraps on him, and went off back to the old Vic after the 2005 GF - never to be heard of again.

Anyone care to shed some light?

He went to St Kilda and broke his leg early in his first year, missing the rest of the season. I think he may have played a game with the Saints in his second year before getting the flick. I think he now plays Vic Ammos.

Mickyj , reading some of those old posts from 07 , isnt it a complete joke how our off season recruiting hopes turned out to be just that , laughable ! Nobody takes the blame , puts their hand up & says we will do better next time around . Fast forward 2 years and f--- all has really changed , apart from the selfish rotund troll has left !

When they were asking for people to nominate for the board, did you put your hat into the ring Holden78?

I dont always agree with u holden but I think your correct at this point in time.Pretty sure we as a club could have picked up some of those VFA representative players last year that I watched on aurora and told the club about.

I am pretty sure many of us paid up members regret not doing that.the board meeting was at a time when I was working 10 hr days .Not that i am board material . ;)
And I have heard from a few irate eagles fans who may be lost to the club if the current losing streak doesnt improve shortly .
But not me I'm here for the long run 1974 I started following West Torrens(as a 11 yr) and 2009 I'm stilll following woodville west torrens .

For gods sake pick the best 21 players and put them in the league , not some in two's ie cica cheep hentschel and the rest in the league .

Those few irate Eagles fans can get lost as far as I am concerned. The other Clubs supporters are so right, our supporters are so 'front running' that it sickens me. Specifically people like you Holden who have done nothing for the Club for years apart from criticise. I am sure you have been leading the pack to get Fuller sacked for years but you would have been the first to revel in the success of 2006.

If either of you had any Football ability, or understanding, you'd put your hand up at the Club in some capacity..... But, no, its much easier to sit on the sidelines and criticise... easier that way, no one blames you when things go bad.

If it is so easy, do some scouting for the Club. Ring them and give them some tips instead of doing it in a forum like this.... If you haven't got the b*lls to call the club at least tell Colin.

Stop your whinging and get behind your Club when they need it.
