Taxi drivers.

Caught a (Suburban) taxi from Port Rd (work show) last night to home (Southern Suburbs).


Rang from there to book a taxi, when it arrived I told him we were dropping an interstate colleague off where he was staying on Anzac highway

Driver did not know how to get to Anzac Hwy from Port rd

Then he completely missed the address of where he was staying, went about 10 minutes past.

Then he asked me how much further to my place (about 20 minutes)

"I will leave you here and get another driver to take you, it won't take long"

Me

"Pardon?"

"I will get someone else to take you, will take too long" (remembering I had told them the destination when I booked the cab)

"I'm not getting out. It is late, I am tired, I wont to get home"

"ok"

He rang his boss who told him off, sounds like the cab was due back in the city. His boss told him that he should swap me with another driver.

Get home

"That will be $52" (no discount offered for the 10 minutes wasted)

Get out Amex.

"oh, plus $5 cash fee"

Me "Pardon?"

"$5 cash as well"

Me "what's that for, I'm not paying that, I never do that"

Him "it’s the fee for something or other (mumble)" (ALready had put $4.50 fee on the metre at the start of the journey)

Me " stick it on the amex if you think I should, but not paying cash" (I was SO over it)

I got out of the taxi and walked around the corner, careful to not let him see where I lived….
