It was actually three clubs all in different leagues and he knew more blokes and has closer mates at the other two clubs. Reynella actually requires the most distance to travel from where he lives. It just came down to the $$$ and electrical goods. Can't blame the bloke, that's footy.

was it PHOS or another Glenelg area side?
yeah electrical goods are always nice!

Geez u blokes fish for the winefly boys to bite.

Every club knowing they are not up to the standard of the Emus will be actively trying to get the best players they possibly can. These under 18 boys wont change the A grade otherwise they wouldve been playing this season just gone.

I agree, the problem is are these players worth the money they are paid (or goods from Teac). Reynella think they are and without them they wouldnt be a chance.

We would all kill for the success Morph Vale are having at this point in time.

Reynella are very very lucky the points system isn't up and running in the SFL. Those 4 pick ups alone would cost them over 20 points. With most leagues adopting a 30-35 point system. There would be no way Reynella could field all 4 players plus Butcher etc in the A grade side. I personally don't mind the system because it makes it harder for clubs to go out and buy a flag. My info tells me the SFL maybe adopting the points system in 09, shall be interesting then.

Well when he can have Fox 1, 2 and 3 all on a separate 50in Plasmas would be hard to drag himself out in the cold when he knows he only gets his $400 for saturdays!

Wow fly, you seem a little unstable resorting to name calling. Personally I believe Moorey will train twice a week because of the type of guy he is. He may miss a few here and there given his employment status (working shift work) and the fact he has a baby girl but he will be committed. Mmm... seems I do know a bit hey mate. Is that what gets to you the most?

have to agree with you BJ

if any other SFL club had signed Moore I'd expect they would be saying he signed for nothing, but because he is going to play with Reynella they start throwing out the fishing lines.

I am looking forward to reading this forum next season should be interesting especially if Reynella do well

I can confirm that PHOS didn't speak to him. On another topic I have heard that Reynella are deep in to talks with a player from West Adelaide, Luke Mensforth.

YEAH RIGHT LEG ROPE!! .... Good club men you say?????? what do you think his match fee would be? $200, $300, $400 a game ? im thinking the latter. SIGN ON FEE[b],maybe some electrical appliances ranging between $3500-$5000.. knowing he turned down the first couple of offers i'd say im probably round the mark from what i've been told. Then Butcher??? and MILO??
how many players are on $400 a game in the SFL? I know one for sure now!!! 2 if butcher signs.
Good club men are a core ingrediant to on field success at any footy club, do these players mentioned fit into that? maybe yes, but at a big cost and risk!! while the true club men at reynella get shafted! [b](e.g D.Thredgold last years finals series)
and restrict the chance of blooding some up and coming youngsters from last years B grade.....?

i think the guys down at wheatsheaf rd are right (mexican and i hate to admit it but ZC too)
you build a club from juniors and a great club atmosphere where everyone is treated equally and money is not an issue to anyone. you cant buy a premiership................................exept the shoes from 2001.

edited by smithy - you can't go saying that stuff here mate...

Big Red how do you know who got shafted in the finals? do you also have inside info at reynella?

I think what Reynella are doing may actually be a very smart move in the end. Think about it, if the points system comes in in 2009 then it would have been wise to recruit as many good players for the 2008 season as when the points system comes in they can continue to pay them big bucks as there will be no salary cap so potentially the players will stay, giving them the oportunity to still go and recruit 3 or 4 blokes on top of the 08 signings. It would mean they would be a top 3 team for probably 3 or 4 years to come before the league levels out a bit.
Plus, like someone said earlier, as a club you look at your deficiencies and you try to fill them. If I played at Reynella I would be excited to hear of some big name recruits, it means your going to be for a good season...hopefully!
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Not a Reynella fan but well done to them as a player or supporter of the SFL people should be pleased that they have the oppurtunity to play against and watch these players that have played a very good level of footy and can only improve the leagues standard.

Jordan Wood is a great pick up. Played Under 18 state in Vic and attented the Draft camp but missed being drafted and played league footy last year plus a good guy to go with it. Is his hip alright? He had an op in the off season didnt he? Thats why he isnt playing cricket at all this year gun cricketer to.

What is it that MV want? They bag sides that recruit to strength their list but also bag sides that cant compete because they are developing juniors just as they did several years ago. Its a good thing that everyone is perfect down at MV and they dont turn their nose up at everyone else in our league. (Thats their Supporters too not players their players are actually good blokes who never blot. Their supporters walk around like their S*** dont stink and their just untouchable BANDWAGONS!!!!!)

I have to agree with that- the way a group of them carried on during the MV v Cove C Grade Second Semi was a sight to behold- culminating in all of them bagging a Cove bloke who had copped a high elbow behind play and was obviously concussed. Made me for one want to support Cove in the last half of the game (And I am no cove fan believe me!). And these blokes were all 40+. Even sledged the umpires as they came off after the game (though they won)-and I'll repeat, in a C grade game!

Have no probs with the players, except the B grade ruckman a few years back who gave me a swinging right cross and a 2 week shiner!
