Years on, I still regret not going to the De La Soul - A Tribe Called Quest gig at the Old Lion back in '89...

And so you should... They were at the height of their powers at that time, was a great show. One of the perks of working part time in a record shop (back when they actually sold records!) was free tickets to a lot of gigs around town, in particular the Old Lion. Baby Animals was another great show there.
