Ben Fenell's brother Simon is the head brewer at the local brewery and he was looking to have a kick after having a couple of years off. And yes Brad Yeomans is back on board for another year

LuvsFooty wrote:I haven't got the document in front of me but it goes something like this.

Each player is 1 point.

Add 5 points for AFL player
Add 4 points for SANFL player / other state leagues
Add 3 points for SANFL Reserves, Div 1,2,3, Hills, River Murray, SFL or other GSFL club
Add 2 points for cateogory 2 league (ie any league outside of above leagues)

Any returning player who played juniors is only the base 1 point
Any player eligable for colts is 0 points.

Total points allowed on any one day Top 4 teams 32, Next 2 34, bottom 4 teams 36

may be slightly off here but that is the general rules

with this rule could you get a player taht has played div 1 footy sign with a div 6 side and then sign with any club only costing 2 points instead of 3. Just a thought or is it where they played there last game.

I think it would be the highest level they've played for the last 2 years.

The way I read it, it's based on where you were last registered to play. There is also a tribunal in place to dispute issues. For example if Ben Cousins moves to Goolwa and buys the local deli and wants to have a kick, The Saints can go to the tribunal and claim that he is a local to avoid costing them 5 points.

So you could recruit players with 'jobs' to get around the points system.

Good point there GA.

Will it be surprising if say for example Mclarens recruit three guns but they are all vineyard managers?

THere will be ways to exploit it, and with the panel to dispute what happens if a mass exodus happens at a club? Do they get allowances and extra points??

Looks like we've solved that one. The points system is no longer an issue.

If a club has a mass exodus they are in strife early, will be interesting to see the allowances made by the tribunal.

A player must have played 10 or more games at his last club to be deemed from that club, if a player signs now with a div 6 club after playing 07 with a div one club then they are graded on the points for the div one involvement. However if a player then plays the first part of the season for div 6 club then comes to a gsfl club then he is deemed on the div 6 points.

Clearly a slow learner!

Just heard that Motlop has left North Adelaide and signed with Seaton Ramblers...

LF where are Goolwa getting all their cash from for all these recruits we are hearing about? Have any actually signed up?

Any further news on Josh Vick?

Apparently so, I was told this morning and am waiting confirmation from the man himself but.
The rumour also speculated there will be three others following from various SANFL clubs but I wasn't given names sorry.
I don't want to talk out of school but APPARENTLY (I use capitals as Im not starting the rumour just passing it on) the Ramblers have a football operations budget to the tune of 80K. If this is close to the figure one would think that its not all dedicated to buy players but also includes coaches, match day fees etc etc.

Josh Vick staying with Cove. In regards to Saints an their money. We are not paying players a hell of a lot of money. A couple of guys we have spoken to have asked 500+ and they got a straight down the line thanks but no thanks answer, but also remember that we only had one contracted player last year so there wasn't a lot of expenditure.
