Exactly

Time and again they win the toss and field.

They have the worst batting line up in the comp, cant chase a score but elect to do so each week

Just mindboggling.

It's obviously one of Tim Paine's directives, we've been doing it all season, it's working a treat, we still manage to finisn 2nd when chasing 150 odd.

If we had of posted our score batting first it would have put a lot of pressure on them from the outset, I'm surprised we catually got so close, when you set sail chasing 11.7 to start with you're up agsinst it, 2 runs a ball.

It's a 20/20 trend. Team chasing is more successful that's why they do it.

Yep internation wide. Teams are simply more comfortable batting second and knowing what's required rather than making an estimate on what a good score is and how hard to go batting first.

I'm a little old school in this, runs on the board.

Its T20 cricket for god sake, win the toss, Bat post 175-180 and you'll win more games than you'll lose, to me it's that simple.

The winning teh toss and choosing bowl first didnt worryme last night, not when over 7/10 teams that choose to do so win.

My problem last night was our absolute pus we bowled in the first four overs 0/69. We were chasing tail from then on and whilst we were on track run rate wise in the 13th over but we had to to keep pushing and then teh damn broke.

Absolute outstanding performance from our two POMMIE imposters (went to write imports but imposter is more apt) 0-88 of six combined overs and 2 runs combined from four balls.

=D> =D> =D>
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

No real excuses but The Bison is always going to bludgeon any attack on that deck with the field up, we didn't bowl some utter tripe though, we're just not very good. There must be some absolute snot getting around if we were a finals hopeful.

I think that's the issue, you don't win more than you lose anymore.

Post 180 and you might have needed 20 more on the board, especially with how deep teams bat these days.

I think what is helping is the bowling is trash this year - Rauf, Siddle, Edwards, Sandhu, Pope are the Top 5 wicket takers, even with them as your 5 bowlers in one team I wouldn't be confident you could defend 180

A lot of teams now going for part time/allrounders to strengthen batting

Zampa, one of the best white ball bowlers in the world, not used to bowl his 4 overs, they go with Sandu instead...
