I hear you brother.

Just had a customer blow up colossal on the phone because he's waiting on goods that were due last week.

So I go a drag two blokes from one area into another area in the factory to get the aforementioned customers work pushed through knowing the two blokes I've pulled off* the other work will result in those goods being late and that customer blowing up colossal at me.

Our customers complain we don't communicate enough and it's true, we don't, I'm over calling people to deliver bad news.

I just submit a rolling 48 hour plan where customers, customer service or sales reps can view what's coming up.

I always get hit up on the day where they plead their case, I just smile and say "duly noted, I'll do my best".

We've been sitting on about 150% capacity for some time, when one area goes nuts I politely point out that you can't fit 3 litres of milk in a 2 litre container.

It does get very draining listening to people getting so worked up though and the fiery emails, I take all of the emotion out of things and tell them straight out.

I walk in with a new smile every day, I'm positive and I try to create a good vibe around the office as we all have our battles going on whether it be here, home or both.

Things all of a sudden seem to be getting a bit more real now that a trip to Greece (and hopefully somewhere else in Europe) might now occur next year.

It has been based on my FIL being healthy enough to make the trip, we should know that in the next few weeks, but we have now decided even if he doesn't make it that we will go as a family, with my sons being half greek its something we are keen to do and probably should have done when they were younger. My BIL will be over there also with his family.

If anyone has any hints or tips, Id welcome any insight, especially recommendations on the best flights/airlines.

Greek Islands are a must! (If you can get to them). I loved Mykonos and I highly recommend any Catamaran tour's around the islands.

Have been to Europe near on a dozen times with many different airlines and do quite a bit of flying so happy to give my thought on transits and airlines although we do travel in business class so don’t have personal experience in seating and comfort but do know all the various configs and have industry experience including knowledge and feedback on most products.

The 3 main things to consider are
- Cost and what you are willing to pay including what class you are prepared to pay for.

- Seating type including configuration, pitch, width etc

- Timing. Things such as night or day flights, breaking it up into sectors and having a short transit or number of transits.

One thing we always do is try to have a couple of days at a transit on the way over and back and often that can be for a week or more that way we get a couple of holidays.
We love the ME so that’s our preference when heading to Europe and then we can relax at a beach resort on the way back

Got 200k in points to play with but I believe there are limited options to use them in peak periods?

Have been looking at Premium Economy for myself and the wife, might look at a stop in Singapore on the way home for a couple of nights.

I do watch a few of the youtubers that review planes, seats, classes etc so will use them as a guide also

Getting harder to use points to and from Australia but we use one of two methods as a rule as we want to only fly business.
Option 1 is to use your points to get from Australia to Asia. We often use points to get to Singapore, KL or Jakarta and then pay for flights from Asia to Europe. Can get business flight for as little as $2600 return from Asia to Europe with specials.

Option 2 is to pay to get to Asia and then use points to get to Europe.

Option 3 which I know several people do is to book a cheap flight to Asia with Scoot or Jetstar and then splash for Premium Economy or Business.
That way you avoid the Australia “tax”
