so now that a few lads have hung the boots up, whats the changes of them getting life membership of the club for loyal service. Eg Jon Floreani who got treated very poorly by the club, but stuck by the club.

CD - we need some exciting news about recruits to get membership going early for 2008. The AGM (in February) is too far away to wait for recruiting news - lets have a few tit bits.

The club will be making offical announcements via emails to members and the media but here is some of the news first.

Paul Lindsay has been appointed Talent manager - development coach.
Mark Jeffries - premiership coach of Portland in Western Border League joins our coaching panel for 2008.

Recruited to the club and welcomed tonight:
Nathan Twomey (ex SAFC), Craig Gogoll (ex CDFC)
ex SANFL but from other leagues in 2007: James McEntee, Craig Taylor, Nick Malinovski,
Returning to the Eagles, Daniel Roberts and Jarrad Wright plus Daniel's brother Matt has also joined us.

We also had a good turn out of underage lads and older invited to train in the main group for pre-season including a few from our country and metro zones.

Also great to see every one back looking very fit and ready for pre season including Christian Grocke who looks to have recovered well from his knee reconstruction, Gavin Colville looking in great shape too as did Nick Salter and Joe Pedler.

Watch this space for more details over the coming weeks

Let's just hope he's not the 'discipline & team ethics' coach.
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

Thanks for the info cd. I gather from doing a quick search Taylor is an ex Port/Sturt midfielder, Malinovski is an ex West rover and Twomey, McEntee and Gogoll are all kpp's. Had forgotten about Daniel Roberts, but he is capable of competing for that 2nd ruck spot behind Dabrowski. Good to have him back. Wright can add to the midfield depth, although wasn't impressed with his game against the Eagles last year - hopefully at a new club he has a change of approach to his game.
