Assistant coach Tyson Goldsack will depart Port Adelaide after accepting an opportunity at an AFL club in Melbourne.

Goldsack joined Port Adelaide ahead of the 2020 season as a SANFL leadership player and development coach following his retirement from AFL football.

Port Adelaide CEO Matthew Richardson thanked Goldsack for his time at Alberton.

“Tyson has made an important contribution to our football club since joining us in 2020,” Mr Richardson said.

“We thank Tyson for the last six years and wish him and his family all the very best as they make the move back to Melbourne.”

Further details of Josh Carr’s finalised coaching panel will be shared in due course.

Port Adelaide is set to promote former player Hamish Hartlett to a line-coaching position, meaning the club will need to find a new SANFL coach.
The Power have been forced into a reshuffle of the panel underneath first-year senior coach Josh Carr after Tyson Goldsack was lured back to Collingwood last week.
Goldsack was earmarked to be the Power’s forwards coach and take care of its ball movement after spending the last couple of years in charge of the defence.
The Power had also added former Gold Coast senior coach Stuart Dew as its midfield coach and senior assistant, Luke Webster from West Coast to head-up the backline, Glenelg two-time SANFL premiership winning coach Darren Reeves for contest and opposition analysis and Hawthorn’s Andy Collins as director of coaching.
But with Power coaches to report at Alberton next week, Port will have to pivot from its original plan.
This is set to involve Hartlett, who has been Port’s SANFL coach for the last two years, stepping up to an assistant coaching role.
The former Power vice-captain, who played 193 games, joined the club’s men’s program coaching staff in 2023 as a development coach after a year at junior club West Adelaide following his AFL career ending.
In 2022 he was also an assistant for the AFLW team.
The Power are on the hunt for a SANFL coach, and it is unsure whether Hartlett’s successor will be formalised when coaches return to Alberton next week.

If you want to go far, go together.

HAWTHORN has added another coach to its development team for 2026 by signing Port Adelaide development coach Jason Williams.

Williams has spent the past two years working at Alberton under Ken Hinkley after starting his coaching journey in Victoria.

A proud Noongar man from Narrogin in Western Australia, Williams coached alongside Xavier Clarke in the Indigenous All Stars game on the eve of the 2025 season.

Williams worked with the emerging forwards at the Power and oversaw Port Adelaide's Next Generation Academy.

Recently retired Gold Coast player Sean Lemmens has joined Port Adelaide in a hybrid role working across football and community, while Mitch Clisby has been added to Josh Carr’s coaching panel.

Lemmens’ role encompasses working across the Next Generation, father-son and daughter, and futures academies. He will also support player development, connect with pathway talent, and strengthen the club’s community impact through his work with Power Community Ltd.

The 30-year-old arrives at the club after 149 games at AFL level for the Suns since being drafted in the 2013 national draft as a Port Adelaide junior.

During his playing years, he also volunteered his time with the Suns’ AFLW program, engaging with players around leadership and team culture.

A proud First Nations man, Lemmens will settle back in Adelaide after more than a decade in Queensland, relocating with wife Chaye and young daughters Rhaea and Penelope.

North Adelaide premiership player Clisby will come to Port Adelaide as a development coach, following the departure of Jason Williams, who will return home to Melbourne for a new opportunity.

Clisby has been working as talent manager and under 18s coach at the Roosters for the past two years, while also previously serving as an assistant coach in the club’s league program.

As a player, he made eight AFL appearances for Melbourne in 2013 and played 151 SANFL games for North Adelaide, leading the side as captain for two seasons.

Port Adelaide CEO Matthew Richardson was delighted to welcome the pair to Port Adelaide.

“We are very pleased to have Sean and Mitch join the club,” said CEO Matthew Richardson said.

“Sean brings a unique set of experiences as an AFL player, with a passion for community programs. Sean’s history at Port Adelaide, being the last player to come through our traditional pathway into the AFL also gives him a great sense of connection to the club and what we are looking to replicate in a future context through our expanded academy programs.

“Mitch’s coaching experience and teaching background will complement our coaching group well. He won a SANFL premiership under our senior coach Josh Carr and alongside our captain Connor Rozee and ruckman Jordon Sweet, so he already has some great relationships in place. He also brings an important development focus to our program.”

“We also wish Jason all the best with his future and thank him for his two years of service to Port Adelaide.”

Port Adelaide great Warren Tredrea dumped from the club’s board
The investigation is over and premiership hero Warren Tredrea has been sensationally dumped by Port Adelaide after a board meeting on Friday.

Port Adelaide’s only AFL premiership captain Warren Tredrea has been sacked from the Power’s board.

At a meeting on Friday, the Power axed its club great as a director following a months’ long investigation into comments that were made by a guest on his Ballsy podcast in May.

The investigation was launched after the Jewish Council of Australia said comments from British Army veteran AJ Roberts amplified far-right anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

In June, Tredrea vehemently denied he was anti-Semitic while unequivocally condemning war and genocide in social media posts.

The 46-year-old, who is the Power’s all-time leading goalkicker, joined the board as one of two members-elected directors in February last year.

His term was due to expire at the end of 2026.

When the Power announced its review into his position in June, Tredrea said the purpose of his podcast provided a platform for people to present their views in an unfiltered forum, and wasn’t about pushing his personal opinions.

Power chairman David Koch said when he announced the investigation that club directors were entitled to personal views but there were concerns content Tredrea had published breached governance standards.

The investigation prompted a wide-range review and overhaul of the Power’s governance processes, which led to the significant delay.

The Port Adelaide Football Club Board advises that Mr Warren Tredrea has today been removed as a Director of Port Adelaide Football Club Limited.

The Board conducted a governance review earlier this year. Following that review, the Board sought to engage with Mr Tredrea to agree certain actions to be taken by him in his capacity as a Director.

Amongst other things, the Board formally requested that Mr Tredrea agree to a Club Statement which included an apology to the Club and anyone who took offence to the comments made on his podcast by Mr AJ Roberts.

Mr Tredrea refused to agree with the public apology request to close out the matter. The Board has afforded Mr Tredrea numerous opportunities to reconsider his position, which he has not changed.

After exhausting all reasonable avenues for resolution, the Board determined that Mr Tredrea's continuation as a Director was not in the best interests of the Club.

With the support of the AFL, the process was implemented in accordance with the Corporations Act and the Club's Constitution.

The Board prides itself on operating in a collaborative and productive way to best deliver outcomes to the Club and its members. Where these values cannot be upheld, good governance requires appropriate action to be taken.

The Board wishes to make clear: this is a governance matter relating to its expectations of Club Directors.

It is not, and should never be interpreted as, a reflection on Warren Tredrea's extraordinary contribution to Port Adelaide as a player. Warren Tredrea is a Premiership captain, Club Champion, and one of the greatest players to represent the Club. His legacy as a player is secure and will forever be celebrated by this Club and our members. That legacy remains untarnished and separate from this governance decision.

The Board remains focused on its responsibilities to lead Port Adelaide Football Club with integrity and in the best interests of all members.

The Club will advise in due course on the next steps for the members to elect a new Director at the next Annual General Meeting.

The Club will make no further comment on this matter.
