Good luck to both teams tomorrow, picking Porties by 8 points.

The Flaggies boys do indeed have a great culture, but the injuries are just too much, sadly. Their first quarter against Christies last week was excellent, but especially after half time it was obvious how many petrol tickets they've spent this year already.
They gave the Cockledivers a bit of a scare early in Rd 18, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's close at half time.

Vikings v Cockledivers is good for the league in that it's two teams who haven't been there for a while. It's just a pity one of them has bought their way there.

Sadly, not to be, fought hard for 2 and a bit quarters then the game got away from them, a few junk time goals really flattering the margin. The players that the Cockledivers have bought and the money that they have spent over the last 2 to 3 years has finally paid off and they make a GF (would have thought the way their supporters ran onto the field with their flags and streamers when the siren sounded that the GF was played on the weekend just gone, but, no).

Special shout out to the scumbag Porties supporters who made a beeline for the Flaggies boys post game. To abuse a couple of players as they were shaking their opponents hands was utterly pissweak, I'm just glad the much bigger and younger Flaggies boys showed restraint and didn't kick the everloving crap out of these derro morons, even if they absolutely deserved it.

Just goes to show you that money may be able to buy you a football team, but it can't buy you class.

As much as I hate to say it, I hope that Valleys win.
In all seriousness they've been the best team all year, the way they've gone about is top notch as well, and a much deserved victory would be a win for local footy and another loss for dollars.

Falcons v Vikings is a proper rivalry, no love lost. But you would struggle to find someone in red & blue who wants the Dollar Boys to win.

My tips above, it will be a great days football and looking forward to watching the day play out. I think the SFL better have extra red jackets in this weekend with some of the rubbish that Porties supporters have dishes up, it will only take 1 angry Viking and all hell could break loose..

Still disappointing that only 5 clubs are represented over the 5 games on GF day.

For someone who doesn't know, how many points are Porties using? I find it hard to believe a SFL club is buying their way to success.

No different from a lot of country leagues, really.
Aldinga won the C grade and the U17 girls, but their Saturday teams have struggled for eternity, and probably will continue to do so for a while yet.
The Emus aren't going to feature for quite a while, although their U14 girls made the GF.
Cove's juniors have been quite good lately, first time in a few years they haven't made an underage GF.
Christies had a really good U17's team for a couple of years, a few of them are working their way through the seniors so they're improving.
And Ironbank won't feature on a GF day in Saturday. No juniors and the seniors are a long way off it.

For someone who doesn't know, how many points are Porties using? I find it hard to believe a SFL club is buying their way to success.

Surprisingly, points aren't published on SFL's PlayHQ.

Compare their 2022 list to this year's. 3 years ago they were last, winless, and an absolute basket case. Now they have that many players that a 2025 SFL and Southern Zone rep gets dropped for the prelim (ironically one of the lads still there from 2022...)

Attempting to buy a flag is nothing new for the SFL, Noarlunga tried it for a number of years and failed, most recently flying in Matt Eagles in an attempt to quell Sam Jacob's influence in 2023. Porties have a big sponsor in Magain, plus Fitzy has a few fingers in a few pies. You certainly aren't going to the Cockledivers to learn football wisdom from Jars, that's for sure...

There was two, actually. Johns and Walters. Walters has already played 3 B grade games coming back from injury, so not a huge shock there.

Johns has played Association & Zone the last 2 years but was dropped. Don't know the story behind it either.

Vikings B Grade have been strong for a few years now, I'm not surprised they got up.
