My point is other states do it well so why can’t we?

I do travel for work to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth often and there is always road works going on.

I guess our population isn’t growing like theirs is

Don’t know why!!

Geographically we're hamstrung, hills to the east, coast to the west and we didn't do enough from 2000 to today to future proof many of our major infrastructure works but then again in 2000 we were still thanking Tim Marcus Clark for his State Bank efforts....then manufacturing died.

We tend to take longer on our projects also.
Not sure if it’s a lack of skills or workers here?

Is it time for TOLLS to get the job done quicker and better?

Some of this can be attributed to the government. On rail upgrades, SA is extremely hesitant to have moving machinery anywhere near live train lines, so you're limited to weekends and night work (which is also hamstrung by noise factors).

I've been in Sydney and Brisbane where they're doing rail work as the trains keep running.

You can fly to Melbourne and back from Adelaide quicker than it takes to get from Tullamarine to the Melbourne CBD … yep they do it better

Trying driving instead of walking
I often get an Uber from the airport to Docklands for work and it takes bugger all time even at 8am

About 6 years ago, I did weekly fly-in fly-out to Melbourne for about 8 months, and soon bedded down a routine of flying in on Sunday night, flying out on late Friday afternoon. If I caught the red-eye Monday morning, I’d be lucky to get into the Melbourne CBD by 9am, on a good day. Agree with non peak, but mornings are just crazy.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

I drive a fair bit in Melbourne in peak hours and only really have issues when using the Westgate bridge
The rest of the city the traffic tends to flow with all the over passes they have now
The one at Docklands saves so much time in peak times

I couldn't say what I think of that department and some key personnel without ending up in court.

Days in Office:

Jan - 9

Incredible performance in May, came in 4/5 days for the week! A first for the year. It did coincide with a visit from Brisbane from the GM though so not sure if that played a part, but still, well done girl, really took your game to another level.

Sadly though, that week really took it out of her, and required the next 6 days off.

Finished 3 days attendance in June.

On track for best month in July - so far an attendance of 7 days - but that does include a 5 day work trip to Brisbane (Travel Mon, Travel Fri, 3x days in office).

That effort has brought the yearly average percentage up to 38% attendance for the year. Huge effort.

Jul - 10
Aug - 6
Sept - 2

Great effort in July, those 5 days in Brisbane for work really boosted the tally up.

Take bets for now many days Sept will finish on? My guess it'll be 6

Like don't get me wrong, it would be nice if she had some level of self respect and ability to reflect, but yeah, when you know your employer doesn't care, it would be hard to be motivated to do the 'right' thing time and time again.

Dunno, having some 'pride' about what you do in your life perhaps? If my employer 'allowed this' in the workplace, I'd leave immediately.

This one’s been done to death before … I’ve got no idea whether she’s a good employee or not, the only information provided is her onsite attendance, which may or may not be relevant.

She may have a personal situation that is no-one else’s business and an agreed working arrangement has been put in place … dunno.

There are many plausible reasons.

Anyway, apologies for interrupting the roasting … as you were.
