Well done to the Beach yesterday, a well-deserved win. It doesn't take long for the natives to start banging the drums at Reynella, reports already coming out to sack the coach and the President... sit tight, I reckon the next month will be interesting at the Flies with multiple issues on the field from 13's kids getting cards to seniors punching people and as always, parents want to blame someone for little Johnny not getting picked.

I don't get this, at all.

They were always going to struggle to repeat last year's effort, given they lost both rucks and their best fielder in Borholm, Whitbread and Schirmer.
Bringing back Semple to "fix" a forward line that wasn't broken made no sense, so that move could definitely be questioned, but they were clearly behind the top 3 sides all year.
As per usual they have great depth in the juniors, top of the 13s, 15s and 17.5s, and the reserves are always in the finals. A bit of clever recruiting could see them back in it next season easily.

As for the last point, you shouldn't have a rotation policy come finals time, especially given this club also has Sunday sides. You picked your best team come finals, this should be communicated to parents so that no-one can complain come September.

Saints with the upset of the season and with a chance to make it 2.

The preliminary final games are what local footy is all about other than Port who are trying to buy a flag.

Two that I know of (Shearer & Mountford), neither will play again this year and Shearer's knee looked very nasty. Apparently there were rumours at the B grade game yesterday about another injury from Saturday's game but so far unconfirmed.

Think they're running with an extended squad for training, seeing B grade are now done for the year. If he stays fit he may get a game!
