AFL ROUND 24

Talk on the national game

I’m 49 years old, I’ve grown up in and around football my entire life.

My Dad coached and administered at Sturt, was a life member and it’s where I spent my childhood and football dominated our life and conversations.

I played, coached and administered at SANFL club level and worked at the SANFL for many years, in game development and coaching.

I’ve been a fan, nufftie follower and spectator of footy at all levels for years.

Watching the game recently, particularly how it’s umpired at AFL level…. I’ve never understood it less.

Maybe you could come out and watch a Div 6 ammos game. The umpiring will be no better, but you can at least reconcile their ineptness.

Interesting scenario, on a sliding scale of results, this is who Adelaide will play in the QF (also this will be the Cats opponent in brackets):
Brisbane win - Collingwood (Brisbane will be 3rd)
Draw - Brisbane or GWS, depending if and how much GWS win by (Collingwood will be 3rd)
Narrow Hawthorn win - Hawthorn (Collingwood will be 3rd)
Larger Hawthorn win - Collingwood (Hawthorn will be 3rd)

So if gold coast lose on wednesday theyre out, if they win theyre in lol

If Doggies win today theyre in and freo hoping suns lose to stay in

If Freo win today then doggies will need suns to lose to stay in

Funny though because last year freo missed out when port beat them last round in Freo (and saved carlton)

At this stage freo might miss out again

Toby takes a ripper. Only one metre over the line but paid.

Briggs throws Marshall to the ground in a ruck contest and no free paid.

Wanker goal umpire alert.

The field umpire should be telling that gormless twit if you call it a goal it is automatically reviewed and no need for you to show how useless you are by calling for a review.

Game wreckers.

What a crock … Croft gets the free because he doesn’t know how to protect himself in a contest.
