Just hearing on AA that Grange want more money to host LIV in 27

We want to be fairly compensated as Members for losing three months of our Membership. Basically losing $1500 of value per year per Member.

Mulligan from the Government said last night we have several fantastic courses nearby to hold the event, trying to bluff. There is no way Glenelg, Kooyonga or Royal Adelaide could hold it, don't have the space plus their Members would not allow the course to be unavailable for three months (at least Grange we can still play 16 holes, short holes etc for some of the time).

Either LIV come to the party or the State government do as they will be embarrassed when it moves to QLD for 2027 (and even 2028 as no way North Adelaide be ready by then). Grange asking for $17m I heard which is fair enough from billionaire owners!

2027 is my year, so I want to see how this all works.

I’m thinking of putting in multiple entries for 2027 when it opens up to maximise our chances of getting in.

Are they transferable?

Not sure, jump that hurdle if & when I get to it. Reckon I could flog them off if I end up landing tickets for 2026.

Good problem to have...

Oh well that was a successful exercise. I have been offered tickets in the ballot for the 2026 Open. Practice Day & The Opening Round.

I will simply let the time lapse & not exercise my option to them.

At least I know getting into the ballot early has results. I am curious if "overseas" applicants get some type of preference at all? :-?

2027. St. Andrews. Then off to an Ashes test match.
