It's usually when they get moved on. I don't think there would be many lining up though, perhaps only West Coast for a packet of skittles and a home brand fruit box.

Soldo won't play, hasn't played SANFL the last game and a half. Presume named so its one less they name from the SANFL side...

Rioli on the edge career wise. Obviously has a lot going on personally, probably fortunate for him that he has a year left on his contract

Finlayson gone at end of year

What’s Finlayson done wrong?
He’s no superstar but appears to play a role when I see him play
Surely better option than Lord

He does a lot of things right if you're looking for someone on the field to do as you say but not as you do. He's very instructional, should do more of what he's telling others to do.

Can't help but think what a player he could have been without the weight of the cancer battle his wife is going through

I absolutely agree and when I'm critical of him I try and balance that with what is going on in his life away from footy. The hard part there is I can look at it as two separate issues knowing full well they're not and are completely intertwined.

His kid attends the same dance school as mine and at their mid-year concert, there was this woman taking a zillion photos of a kid in full dance kit. Remember thinking shit she looks familiar but I don't know where from! 10 minutes later I realise it's the Finlaysons. I did not begrudge them one bit when they up and left about 10 minutes after their kid finished on stage. I on the other hand was sticking it out as I'd paid $28 for this show and wanted my moneys worth!

Press conference at 1pm. No, it's not that, not quite yet.

I'm guessing Boak retirement. If it's Hinkley standing down they've completely f*cked something else up this year. Surely not.

His loyalty, among a few others, saved the club from oblivion. That will never be forgotten by those of us who were there at the time.

I feel for him and Robbie, to not win a premiership when not only was our window open, it was taken out of it's panes.

Gee, seeing Whitlock standing next to a couple Geelong players was scary, of course he's only 19 but he needs a lot of time in the gym. To be honest though, I'm not sure on why we'd recruit him, he has a twin brother that plays for the Roos FFS, as if that isn't a recipe for wanting to head home at some stage.

I see Port are running an interesting late year competition...
Free to enter and you go into a draw to win a signed guernsey. There is also a tick box option to get a free 2 x game membership for the last two home games of the year.
No doubt they are worried about the last two home game crowds (understandable) but does giving away memberships inflate their membership tally?

They wouldn't count in the AFL audit, no.
