George Bailey quote that was in the article link I posted yesterday-
"There are several players with existing opportunities overseas or tailored off-season programs who weren't considered for selection. We anticipate those players will be available for Australia A's tour of India in September as we look ahead to the 2027 Border-Gavaskar Series.

Want to me ask some more questions on things covered in the article?

Yep....fast food society... Now if it was a 1-3 minute video i definitely would have watched it.

Plus ill take TDK's take on it over the journalist writing the article anyway.

That’s the reason when a journalist hears a story that may happen and the entire media pack all report on it as fact.

I listened to his interview from yesterday on the Final Word Cricket Podcast this morning (not a podcast I normally listen to), I think he gave a great insight into his retirement.

Admittedly I haven't been to a day of test cricket for about a decade but got the email about presale of Ashes tickets so had a look.

$147 for a seat in ground level bays, and $70 for kids aged 3-15. Not much cheaper in the nose-bleeds. Add on a $7-8 fee.

Maybe this belongs in the "things that give you the shits" thread instead. :?

I got Days 1 and 2 for the Boxing Day test. $115 a seat in the Shane Warne Stand. 4 tickets each day.
Not cheap at all

Time will tell how the selectors go IMO its going to be a painful 12 months or so in Australian cricket.

Im not sold on Kontas as a test batter but like Mc Sweeney they both need to be given test matches to develop

Smith wont be around for much longer, Inglis certainly deserves a chance as a batter only, i would bat him at 3 Head terribly out of form, needs to get his head (no pun intended) sorted out, Webster IMO is the answer at 6, Carey also at 7 doing a stellar job, the bowlers will be moving on you would think in the next 12 months as well, I think we have seen the best of Lyon, he was out bowled by part time spinners from Sth Africa this test

In addition to Lyon who is 37, Boland is 36 , Starc 35, Hazlewood 34, and Cummins 32.
