Have not been to Morphie Parks in a few years, great venue now. Oval in superb condition but was surprised the cricket pitch wasn’t covered

Cricket pitches don't get covered by dirt anymore. It's a synthetic replacement.

It's a problem not having the D2R comp. TTG win that, or Seaton at a pinch, when they knew they were strong and asked to go into D3.

Why should a club be rewarded with being placed in one of the higher divisions, who has not put much effort historically into juniors girls & women's footy and simply went a took players from other clubs when a stack of clubs are doing the hard ground work for women's footy. That's like me going out and recruiting a stack of guns for Men's footy then ringing the league and telling them to chuck me in the top end.
No offence to those involved at Seaton - and don't get me wrong great to see them get a side - but their formation to me is everything that is wrong with women's footy still... what happens when the coach and/or a couple of influential players leave?
Chuck em in D3.. they have their one or two years of fun.. disband.. then other clubs are forced to move up and fill that void.
Perhaps its time women's footy had player points like the men.

This is true.. and frustratingly another point of difference between Men / Women comps (well in the lower divisions at least).
Honestly time both comps were treated the same - women's footy have cried out for years to be seen as an equal and be treated the same.. but then on the other hand they don't want salary caps or player points or promotion / relegation, or pick the division they want to compete in.
I would like to see clubs take the women a bit more seriously or not at all - our women's team have struggled forever, and I haven't always been a fan (and sometimes now still not) but if you're going to go down that path, then do it properly and build something long term and sustainable like the Broadviews / Golden Groves of the world

Isn't that what happened with this new Seaton side? Baz was coaching SMOSH, went to Seaton, took half the girls with him?

Baz didn't get to coach anywhere last season, I think he may have been an assistant at Golden Grove. Seaton were on the lookout to start a womens team, Baz was available (and an ideal choice for a new team), obviously knew each other being the next club over and then he had the task of putting together a side.
They were struggling for numbers big time only a few weeks out but he kept niggling away believing that they will get there.
IMO Baz got shafted at SMOSH, I'll leave it at that. I don't know how many SMOSH A Graders ended up at Seaton, he had spent years coaching junior girls at SMOSH.
