Round 3 Hostplus SANFLW Match Wraps
Sturt 4.8 (32) d Glenelg 0.6 (6)
Sturt has broken through for its first win of the Hostplus SANFLW League season after conquering Glenelg by 26 points at The Summit, Mt Barker.
The Double Blues were always in control of the contest against a Tigers outfit which rarely threatened to kick a goal.
The Tigers, who failed to score in the opening quarter, have now lost all three games to kick off their campaign.
Isobel Kuiper sparked the Double Blues into action and her heavy influence was reflected in the statistics when she had 18 possessions in a stunning first-half performance.
Georgia King was also outstanding for the Double Blues and her second goal, a brilliant effort from near the boundary line, midway through the third quarter put her side 25 points clear.
At that stage, the inside 50 count was 28-10 in favour of the Double Blues, evidence of their supremacy.
Bays ball-magnet Jessica Bates was her typical self, gathering plenty of possessions and Ellie Kellock was again heavily involved with 23 disposals.
Norwood 3.5 (23) d North Adelaide 3.1 (19)
Norwood withstood a titanic struggle with North Adelaide at Hisense Stadium to break through for its first win of the season, holding off the Roosters by four points.
Neither team was able to add a goal in the final quarter and the Redlegs were able to hang on to secure the valuable two premiership points.
The Redlegs were unable to capitalise on their dominance of the possession count and a superior clearance tally, while the Roosters had more visits inside their attacking 50.
The tone for the challenging struggle was established in the opening quarter when no score was posted. However, it took less than two minutes of the second term for the first goal when Kate Alexander kicked truly for the Redlegs.
Tiara Hatchard responded for the Roosters when she took several bounces, before kicking the goal for a crucial major against the wind.
Sarah Branford was busy for the Redlegs, amassing 20 disposals, while classy Laela Ebert was the highest possession earner for the Roosters with 19.
West Adelaide 2.4 (16) lost to South Adelaide 4.6 (30)
A superb performance from ruck Soriah Moon has propelled South Adelaide to a 14-point victory over West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.
Moon was supreme at the contest, compiling 25 hitouts, 24 possessions and 14 clearances. The Panthers’ star also had nine tackles to climb the club to second on the ladder.
Emma Charlton also had a heavy influence for the Panthers with 25 possessions, nine tackles and six clearances, while Caitlin Crouch had 24 disposals and nine tackles.
With Moon in dominant form, the Panthers controlled the hitouts and clearances. However, the Bloods nailed the only two goals of the first quarter.
The response from the Panthers was a strong statement on the contest, bagging the only three goals of the second term.
There were no goals in the third quarter and Abby Woodward kicked the only goal of the final term to cement the win for the Panthers.
Emily Mableson collected 24 possessions for the Bloods and Zoe Venning was at it again, finishing with 23 disposals, 12 tackles and five clearances.

Woodville-West Torrens made a massive statement on the Hostplus SANFLW League with an emphatic 54-point triumph over Central District at Eastern Parade Reserve.
Claiming a third successive win to open the season, the Eagles demolished the Bulldogs with a high-quality performance to announce themselves as serious title contenders.
And they cruised to the top of the premiership ladder despite failing to kick goals in the second and fourth quarters.
The magnitude of the win was built on the back of a brilliant eight goal effort in the third term when the Eagles, who owned all the key statistics, tore the game apart.
The tone was established in the first quarter when the Eagles had 3.4 on the scoreboard before Katelyn Rosenzweig kicked the first of her two goals for the Bulldogs late in the term.

South Adelaide surged from behind to conquer Central District by a point at Magain Stadium, climbing to second on the Hostplus SANFLW League ladder.
The Panthers were staring at defeat when they trailed by 12 points after gun Bulldogs forward Katelyn Rosenzweig nailed her second goal 12 minutes into the final quarter.
But Shae Archbold kept the home side’s hopes alive with her second major, and Lily Baxter levelled the scores with her second goal 17 minutes into the final term. A behind a minute later was sufficient to get the Panthers their third win.
Rosenzweig gave the visitors the early lead, only for the Panthers to nail three unanswered goals to grab the ascendency.
Panthers ruck Soriah Moon had a significant influence, not only dominating the tap work, but picking up plenty of possession. She finished with 27 disposals, nine clearances and 23 hit outs.
Wasted opportunities in front of goal hurt the Panthers and the Bulldogs, led by Madison Lane, pounced to lead going into the final term.
The pressure in the final quarter was immense. The Bulldogs looked headed for a rare win over the Panthers, before the home side charged to victory on the back of the two late goals.
North Adelaide 7.10 (52) d Glenelg 3.4 (22)
North Adelaide continued to show encouraging signs with a hard-fought 30-point win over Glenelg at Prospect Oval.
The Roosters established the platform for the victory with a superb second quarter when they bagged three goals, while keeping the Tigers scoreless.
In fact, the Tigers did not add a score from the 13 minute mark of the first quarter until 17 minutes into the third term.
The Roosters’ Laela Ebert kicked the first goal of the game and her first at league level nine minutes into the first quarter.
The Tigers responded four minutes later when former Redleg Kaitey Whittaker nailed her first goal at this level.
The Bays got their hands to plenty of ball and won the clearances. But they were unable to take advantage and were easily beaten in the inside 50 count.
Julie Clark had a huge impact for the Roosters with 27 possessions, while ball magnet Jessica Bates had a game high 35 disposals.
The Tigers are the only team yet to win a game after four rounds.

Woodville-West Torrens’ Rosette Zerella celebrated her milestone 50th appearance with a brilliant four-goal performance in the impressive 38-point win over Norwood at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
Fronting her former side, Zerella was potent in attack from the outset. She nailed the opening goal after six minutes, added two more in the third quarter and kicked the final goal of the contest.
The Eagles have yet to qualify for a finals series, but they have opened the season in emphatic fashion with four outstanding wins.
The Redlegs challenged the Eagles early and scores were locked together at half time, both sides putting just one goal on the scoreboard.
However, the home side turned up the heat in the second half and were rewarded for their relentless pressure. Christina Leuzzi had a massive influence for the Eagles with 30 possessions, six tackles and five clearances.
The dominance of the Eagles was reflected in the statistics with the inside 50 count 41-19 in their favour.

Annie Falkenberg will captain the SANFLW State Team in its historic clash against the VFLW at Alberton Oval on Friday night.
The highly-respected Woodville-West Torrens skipper, who was vice-captain in last year’s inaugural clash against the WAFLW, will be supported by Glenelg’s Jess Bates (vice-captain) and fellow Eagles’ co-captain Poppy Waterford (deputy vice captain).
As many as nine players will don the cherished red guernsey for the first time in the AAMI State Game, which will begin under lights at 6.30pm.
Among the debutants are veteran Eagle ruck Leah Cutting Central pair Madison Lane and Lauren Breguet, Norwood duo Kiana Lee and Sarah Branford, Eagles forward Klaudia O’Neill, West’s Emma Kilpatrick, South’s Mel Anderson and talented North half-back Laela Ebert.
Experienced forwards Karelyn Rosenzweig and Jade Halfpenny are set to form a dangerous tandem deep inside 50m while at the other end, the reliable Tiffany King and Marie Martino are poised to repel across the last line of defence.

A four-goal first term blitz was the catalyst for the VFLW’s efficient 27-point win against the SANFLW in the inaugural AAMI State Game at Alberton Oval on Friday night.

Round 5 Hostplus SANFLW Match Wraps
West Adelaide 3.4 (22) lost to Woodville-West Torrens 6.4 (40)
Woodville-West Torrens made it five wins in a row with a comfortable 18-point win over West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium in Round 5 of the Hostplus SANFLW League.
It was all Eagles on Friday morning, as the ladder leaders dominated the first quarter, as co-captain Poppy Waterford, Klaudia O’Neill, Rosette Zerella and Marlie Fiegert all hit the scoreboard, with Emma Kilpatrick the lone goal kicker for Westies in the first.
Fiegert kept the party going for the Eagles, kicking her second halfway through the second quarter, as ruck Leah Cutting had a field day (32 hit outs, 13 disposals, five marks) as the visitors continued their undefeated season.
It was a scoreless third quarter for both teams but Westies’ Riverland product Sarah Campbell got things back into gear for the Bloods, scoring the first goal of the game since the 18th minute mark in the second quarter, but the Eagles were too good for the home side.
Klaudia O’Neill kicked her second goal to cap off a cracking performance by the Eagles, as Christina Leuzzi (20 disposals, eight tackles) ran rampant around Hisense Stadium.
Westies’ Zoe Venning once again showed us why she is one of the league’s best, with 28 disposals and six clearances, while youngster Ruby Ballard (nine tackles) was relentless with her pressure, as Westies tried to stop the Eagles as they took flight.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to hosting the Roosters next Saturday, while Westies will look to bounce back against Central District.
North Adelaide 8.9 (57) d Central District 3.4 (22)
North Adelaide’s resurgence under coach Kelly Barltrop continued after the Roosters comfortably accounted for Central District by 35 points at Prospect Oval.
The Roosters got out to an early lead in the first quarter, courtesy of Zara Molloy, followed by goals from Laura Niejalke and Julia Clark in the second quarter to get things out to a three-goal lead.
The Doggies did not find the goals until halfway through the second quarter when Jovanka Zecevic kicked one from a free kick almost directly in front of goals.
Aprille Crooks got the third quarter going with a quick goal, with the Doggies responding via Lauren Breguet, but the Roosters continued to prove too strong for the visitors, with Julia Clark slotting her second of the day to extend the lead back to three goals by the end of the third.
North forward Lucy Reddaway to extend the lead four-goals at the start of the fourth quarter, and the goals just kept coming for the Roosters, much to Central’s dismay.
Goals to Aprille Crooks and Polly Turner solidified North’s dominant performance, before Central’s star Katelyn Rosenzweig kicked her first for the day late in the last quarter.
Julia Clark was prolific for the home-side with 32 disposals, eight marks, six clearances and two goals and was well supported by Ashleigh George (13 disposals, five tackles) and Djimila Totham (22 disposals, six clearances) with the Roosters now sitting third on the ladder.
Central’s Laitiah Huynh continued her stellar start to the season (18 disposals, five clearances) along with Katelyn Rosenzweig (15 disposals, seven marks) but it was not enough to get the visitors the win on Good Friday.

South Adelaide has overcome a slow start to beat the winless Glenelg by 16 points at Stratarama Stadium on Good Friday.
The Panthers went scoreless in the first quarter, with a goal from Glenelg’s Kaitey Whittaker their only for the first half.
However, the Panthers kicked into gear in the second quarter and kicked four unanswered goals in response, thanks to captain Jordann Hickey (two goals) and Shae Archbold and Lauren Clifton.
It looked like the Tigers were on the comeback in the third quarter, with Kaitey Whittaker kicking her second and Kiahni Russell slotting one, with vice-captain Jess Bates (32 disposals, six clearances) excellent in bringing the Bays back into the game, with the scores level at three quarter time.
South once again put their foot down, with Melissa Anderson slotting her first for the quarter, before Glenelg’s Chloe Harding responded with her first goal for the game, to get the scores level again, but it was all navy and white for the remainder of the game, with Anderson kicking her second of the game and Jordann Hickey capping off her excellent performance with her third major.
Soriah Moon was everywhere for the Panthers, racking up 21 disposals, 32 hit outs and six clearances, and was well assisted by young-gun Emma Charlton (14 disposals, 10 tackles) who backed up her Round Four SANFLW Powerade Breakthrough Player performance.
Mackenzie O’Dea was excellent for the home side (15 disposals, five marks) as well as Matilda Wilmore (seven tackles) in an otherwise frustrating game for Glenelg.
Glenelg will host Norwood on ANZAC Day next Friday as the Tigers look to get the first win of the season, whilst South will head to Thomas Farms Oval to take on Sturt on Sunday morning.

Sturt held on to beat Norwood by three-points after the Redlegs mounted a last quarter comeback at Thomas Farms Oval.
It was a topsy-turvy game, which saw the lead change hands at each break, but it was ultimately the Double Blues who got it done in the end, off the back of an Isobel Kuiper masterclass.
The Sturt superstar received the Ellen Maple Medal, awarded to the most courageous and determined player on the field. Kuiper had a whopping 26 disposals, 14 tackles, 11 clearances and one goal.
The medal is awarded in honour of inaugural Norwood premiership player and Sturt player Ellen Maple, who tragically passed away in 2018.
Double Blues midfielder Claudia Edmonds got the scoring started for the day, but back-to-back goals from Norwood saw the visitors leading at quarter time.
Two quick goals from Saskia Reynolds and Kuiper saw Sturt take the lead, before Kiana Lee kicked her second of the day, with a second goal to Reynolds putting the Blues up by five points at half-time.
It was all Sturt in the third quarter, as the home side kicked three unanswered goals, to give them a 22-point lead heading into the final term.
Norwood produced an almost-stunning comeback, with Amelia Rusden kicking truly to give the Redlegs some momentum, with midfielder Lee slotting back-to-back goals, bringing her haul to four goals, but it was not enough to get Norwood over the line.

Sturt 3.3 (21) lost to South Adelaide 8.14 (62)
South Adelaide celebrated Jaslynne Smith’s 100th SANFLW game in style, with a resounding 41-point victory over Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval.
Lucy Northcott scored back-to-back goals for the Panthers to get the party started, with Sturt responding in style thanks to Molly Fletcher and Zara Walsh to put the Double Blues within two points of the visitors at quarter time.
Sturt opened the scoring in the second quarter, with Edwina Thornquest slotting one to give Sturt its only lead of the day, but South responded quickly, as Northcott kicked her third goal of the half, before Hope Taylor kicked her first goal of the season to give the Panthers a handy nine-point lead heading into the main break.
Unfortunately for Sturt, it was all South in the third quarter as the Panthers scored four unanswered goals courtsey of Shae Archbold (two goals), Melissa Anderson and Lauren Clifton, with Sturt struggling to enter inside 50 throughout the quarter, leaving them without any score during the third.
Both teams went goalless in the final term, but the damage was already done for the home side, as South Adelaide dominated in all areas across the ground to cruise to a comfortable victory, with the Panthers now sitting one win behind ladder-leaders Woodville-West Torrens.
Soriah Moon once again had a field day for the Panthers, with 27 disposals, 23 hit outs and eight clearances, and was well supported by her midfield, with Emma Charlton (20 disposals, nine tackles) and Caitlin Crouch (18 disposals, three clearances) both contributing well to their side’s strong win.
The milestone woman – Jaslynne Smith – did what she does best, calmly controlling the backline as she has done so many times before as her Panthers cruised to victory.
Sturt’s Isobel Kuiper was once again one of her side’s best, with 22 disposals, 10 tackles and nine clearances, along with Monique Bessen (21 disposals, six inside 50s) as the Double Blues now sit just 1.7 per cent outside the top four.
Glenelg 1.2 (8) lost to Norwood 2.7 (19)
Norwood notched up its second win of the season with a nine-point win against Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium.
Goals were hard to find for both teams down at the Bay, with the first major score coming via Glenelg’s Kaitey Whittaker at the five-minute mark in the second quarter, with Norwood’s Amelia Rusden following suit four minutes later, giving the Redlegs a three-point lead heading into half-time.
A stagnant third quarter, which saw both teams go goalless again, set up a tight contest heading into the final term, with Glenelg desperately playing for its first win of the season.
However, it was not meant to be for the home side, with Norwood’s Sophie Armitstead kicking the third, and final goal of the game, to give Redlegs the win in an otherwise scrappy affair.
Norwood’s Charlee Brooksby and Charli Hazelhurst (five tackles each) were both relentless with their pressure around the ground, along with Jade Halfpenny (20 disposals, four tackles), as the Redlegs continue their rise up the ladder.
Tigers captain Jess Bates (22 disposals, seven tackles) did everything she could to get her side over the line, along with Marie Martino (25 disposals, five marks) and Georgie Fielder (17 disposals, nine tackles, four inside 50s) but it was not enough to give Glenelg the win they desperately need.
West Adelaide 4.10 (34) lost to Central District 7.4 (46)
Central District burst out of the blocks to secure a 12-point win against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.
Central forward Katelyn Rosenzweig got the visitors off to a hot start, kicking the first goal of the game, before Westies stalwart Nicole Hooper kicked her team’s first of the day to give the Bloods a three-point lead heading into the quarter time break.
However, it was short lived as the Doggies scored back-to-back goals, courtsey of Lauren Breguet and Alysha Healy, to give the visitors a nine-point buffer heading into the main break.
Westies’ Emma Kilpatrick got the scoring going in the third quarter, to reduce the margin to three-points, but unfortunately for the home side, Central controlled the rest of the contest.
Alysha Healy scored her second of the afternoon, to give her team a seven-point lead at three-quarter-time, before Rosenzweig and Breguet got the goals going again in the fourth quarter.
Lucy Waye kicked her first for the day midway through the last quarter, bringing the margin back to 12-points, but was quickly extended back to 19-points when Breguet kicked her third for Centrals.
A late goal from superstar Zoe Venning (24 disposals, one goal) got Westies within two goals, but it was too late for the Bloods, who now sit three wins outside the top-tour.
Dakota Williams was excellent for the visitors, finishing with an astonishing 19 disposals, nine clearances and nine tackles, along with Laitiah Huynh (24 disposals, five marks) and Miyu Endersby, who had a field day in the ruck and finished the day with 34 hit outs.
West’s Hannah Button was everywhere, finishing with 18 disposals, five clearances and a whopping 10 tackles, and was well supported by Chloe Tonkin (21 hit outs, seven inside 50s), as well as Waye, who racked up 19 disposals and five tackles, to go along with her goal.
Woodville-West Torrens 9.6 (60) d North Adelaide 3.1 (19)
Woodville-West Torrens has continued its unbeaten run with a thumping 41-point win over North Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.
Eagles forward Ashley Baker got the scoring started, before North’s Laela Ebert got the Roosters on the board, to give the visitors a one-point lead at quarter time.
Woodville-West Torrens showed why they are the team to beat, with former Crows AFLW player McKenzie Dowrick kicking three unanswered goals in the second term, to give the Eagles a comfortable 20-point lead heading into the main break.

South Adelaide celebrated Jaslynne Smith’s 100th SANFLW game in style, with a resounding 41-point victory over Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval.
Lucy Northcott scored back-to-back goals for the Panthers to get the party started, with Sturt responding in style thanks to Molly Fletcher and Zara Walsh to put the Double Blues within two points of the visitors at quarter time.
Sturt opened the scoring in the second quarter, with Edwina Thornquest slotting one to give Sturt its only lead of the day, but South responded quickly, as Northcott kicked her third goal of the half, before Hope Taylor kicked her first goal of the season to give the Panthers a handy nine-point lead heading into the main break.
Unfortunately for Sturt, it was all South in the third quarter as the Panthers scored four unanswered goals courtsey of Shae Archbold (two goals), Melissa Anderson and Lauren Clifton, with Sturt struggling to enter inside 50 throughout the quarter, leaving them without any score during the third.
Both teams went goalless in the final term, but the damage was already done for the home side, as South Adelaide dominated in all areas across the ground to cruise to a comfortable victory, with the Panthers now sitting one win behind ladder-leaders Woodville-West Torrens.
Soriah Moon once again had a field day for the Panthers, with 27 disposals, 23 hit outs and eight clearances, and was well supported by her midfield, with Emma Charlton (20 disposals, nine tackles) and Caitlin Crouch (18 disposals, three clearances) both contributing well to their side’s strong win.
The milestone woman – Jaslynne Smith – did what she does best, calmly controlling the backline as she has done so many times before as her Panthers cruised to victory.
Sturt’s Isobel Kuiper was once again one of her side’s best, with 22 disposals, 10 tackles and nine clearances, along with Monique Bessen (21 disposals, six inside 50s) as the Double Blues now sit just 1.7 per cent outside the top four.
Glenelg 1.2 (8) lost to Norwood 2.7 (19)
Norwood notched up its second win of the season with a nine-point win against Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium.
Goals were hard to find for both teams down at the Bay, with the first major score coming via Glenelg’s Kaitey Whittaker at the five-minute mark in the second quarter, with Norwood’s Amelia Rusden following suit four minutes later, giving the Redlegs a three-point lead heading into half-time.
A stagnant third quarter, which saw both teams go goalless again, set up a tight contest heading into the final term, with Glenelg desperately playing for its first win of the season.
However, it was not meant to be for the home side, with Norwood’s Sophie Armitstead kicking the third, and final goal of the game, to give Redlegs the win in an otherwise scrappy affair.
Norwood’s Charlee Brooksby and Charli Hazelhurst (five tackles each) were both relentless with their pressure around the ground, along with Jade Halfpenny (20 disposals, four tackles), as the Redlegs continue their rise up the ladder.
Tigers captain Jess Bates (22 disposals, seven tackles) did everything she could to get her side over the line, along with Marie Martino (25 disposals, five marks) and Georgie Fielder (17 disposals, nine tackles, four inside 50s) but it was not enough to give Glenelg the win they desperately need.
West Adelaide 4.10 (34) lost to Central District 7.4 (46)
Central District burst out of the blocks to secure a 12-point win against West Adelaide at Hisense Stadium.
Central forward Katelyn Rosenzweig got the visitors off to a hot start, kicking the first goal of the game, before Westies stalwart Nicole Hooper kicked her team’s first of the day to give the Bloods a three-point lead heading into the quarter time break.
However, it was short lived as the Doggies scored back-to-back goals, courtsey of Lauren Breguet and Alysha Healy, to give the visitors a nine-point buffer heading into the main break.
Westies’ Emma Kilpatrick got the scoring going in the third quarter, to reduce the margin to three-points, but unfortunately for the home side, Central controlled the rest of the contest.
Alysha Healy scored her second of the afternoon, to give her team a seven-point lead at three-quarter-time, before Rosenzweig and Breguet got the goals going again in the fourth quarter.
Lucy Waye kicked her first for the day midway through the last quarter, bringing the margin back to 12-points, but was quickly extended back to 19-points when Breguet kicked her third for Centrals.
A late goal from superstar Zoe Venning (24 disposals, one goal) got Westies within two goals, but it was too late for the Bloods, who now sit three wins outside the top-tour.
Dakota Williams was excellent for the visitors, finishing with an astonishing 19 disposals, nine clearances and nine tackles, along with Laitiah Huynh (24 disposals, five marks) and Miyu Endersby, who had a field day in the ruck and finished the day with 34 hit outs.
West’s Hannah Button was everywhere, finishing with 18 disposals, five clearances and a whopping 10 tackles, and was well supported by Chloe Tonkin (21 hit outs, seven inside 50s), as well as Waye, who racked up 19 disposals and five tackles, to go along with her goal.

Woodville-West Torrens has continued its unbeaten run with a thumping 41-point win over North Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

Glenelg has claimed its first Hostplus SANFLW Development League premiership, with a 21-point victory over South Adelaide at Stratarama Stadium.
The Panthers were looking to secure their third SANFLW Development League flag in succession, but it was all the Bays on Sunday afternoon, with the visitors never really getting a look in.
The Tigers led at all breaks throughout the game and managed to keep South scoreless in both the second and last quarter.
A third quarter comeback seemed to be on the cards for the Panthers, as they got within seven points of the eventual premiers.
But two last-quarter goals for the Tigers sealed the deal and ended any chance of the Panthers winning three Development League premierships in a row.
Brooklyn Kraft, Madisyn Freeman, Bailey Broome, Elizabeth Johnson and Emme Day were adjudged best on ground for the premiers in their historic win.
Demi-lee Braun, captain Chloe Meyers, Charlotte Dolan, Tiana Lush and Kate Chapman earned best on ground for South, with the latter kicking two of the Panthers three goals.

SANFLW State Team to host WAFLW
Three new faces will make their debut for the SANFLW State Team in its historic clash against the WAFLW at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon.
North Adelaide pair Aprille Crooks and Julia Clark, together with West Adelaide’s Ruby Ballard, have been selected in the final 22 to confront the WAFLW in a curtain-raiser to the Adelaide v Carlton AFL match.
Starting at 12.45pm, the contest will mark the first time the Croweaters host their Nullarbor rivals on home soil after they triumphed by 16 points at Optus Stadium in Perth last year.
Coached by Courtney Cramey, the SANFLW side will be looking to atone for its 27-point loss to the VFLW at Alberton as part of the Gather Round festivities on April 11.
Crooks has been named at half-forward while Clark and Ballard, the younger sister of Crows AFLW player Abbie, form part of the six-player interchange rotation.
South Adelaide premiership captain Jordann Rugless (nee Hickey) had also been added to the squad but is unavailable after experiencing knee soreness after the SANFLW’s main training session at Glenelg.
The SANFLW team will again be captained by reliable defender Annie Falkenberg, with star midfielder Jess Bates continuing as vice captain.
Bates will again look to team up in the centre square with Christina Leuzzi, who was awarded the medal for best SANFLW player against the VFL after collecting a team-high 23 disposals while also laying 13 tackles to go with her eye-catching goal.
The SANFLW’s clash with the WAFLW will be streamed live and free via SANFL Now. A ticket to the Adelaide Crows v Carlton AFL match is required for spectators.

The SANFLW capitalised on the WAFLW’s inaccuracy in front of goal, mounting a late surge to record an eight-point victory at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
The Croweaters were on the back foot for large stretches but came up big when it mattered, making it two from two against the WAFLW and atoning for last month’s shock 27-point loss to the VFLW at Alberton.
SA trailed by a straight kick midway through the fourth quarter before spearhead Katelyn Rosenzweig outmarked WA’s Tiani Teakle and goaled to level the scores.
Then in the 14th minute, Norwood forward Kiana Lee capitalised on a 25m penalty awarded to Jess Bates, before outmarking two opponents and converting truly to break the deadlock.
Laela Ebert (16 disposals) won the medal for best SANFLW player, marshalling the hosts’ backline, which found itself regularly under siege during the first three quarters.
Despite Leah Cutting’s dominance in ruck, the WAFLW’s engine room – piloted by Lisa Steane and Krstel Petrevski – used slick hands to dominate at ground level early.
Isabella Shannon got WA on the board first, before Lauren Breguet goaled twice – via a free kick, then a smart baulking effort after being set up by Central District team-mate Rosenzweig – to give SA a five-point quarter-time edge.
The WAFLW dominated territory in the second term but a slew of missed shots kept the Croweaters in the hunt.

Laela is one of our own girls who has shone through since starting footy about 10-12 years ago against the boys. I was lucky enough to assistant coach her through her formative years in the girls competition, but unfortunately for her, she had two knee reco's in her mid teens. She now has the strength and power to thrive at the top level. I was pretty shocked when the AFL scouts overlooked her at last years draft. But North and SA are lucky to have her. She should be playing AFLW, as her kicking and decision making is elite - something sorely lacking in AFLW in my eyes.

Laela is one of our own girls who has shone through since starting footy about 10-12 years ago against the boys. I was lucky enough to assistant coach her through her formative years in the girls competition, but unfortunately for her, she had two knee reco's in her mid teens. She now has the strength and power to thrive at the top level. I was pretty shocked when the AFL scouts overlooked her at last years draft. But North and SA are lucky to have her. She should be playing AFLW, as her kicking and decision making is elite - something sorely lacking in AFLW in my eyes.
Is Modbury her community club?
