Has anyone cooked soft shell crab before?

I had it once at Mr Micks @ Clare and it was sensational, I can't remember what I had though.

I have some ready to cook up this evening but I'm trying to work out the perfect recipe.

Ended up cooking them in a teriyaki/honey sauce with garlic and shallots.

The ones I bought were far bigger than the ones I had in the restaurant, they looked like tarantulas after I had cooked them and the texture was weird as they weren't battered and bite sized.

Although they were tasty, it felt a bit weird eating them, I'll probably discard the rest of the packet which is a shame as they were quite expensive.

Inspired by those over on the piss head thread I’ve found inspiration for the long week ahead…
“Spargo’s slow-cookathon” - I have 3 slow cookers (I know, I know) that will all get a workout

-Beef Vindaloo
-Chicken Tikka Masala
-BBQ Pork Shoulder

Mmmmm, I have about 8 shanks in my freezer, might have to let them have a swim on Saturday in a red wine sauce.

My daily run entailed going past a low budget looking Indian place that produced the most awesome scents, I had a decent win on the punt one day so I decided to grab a few dishes to see what I liked, the food is immaculate.

The're Vindaloo was really spicy (got banned by the GF as it was too hot).
Rogan Josh was on point.
Her and pretty much every Western woman's favourite "Butter Chicken" is superb, we ask for it to be a bit spicy.
I can't go past their Beef Madras though, it hits the spot.

Their Cheese and Garlic Naan is great too, especially at $3.50.

I do cheat though, I cook my own rice once I've ordered the mains.

I'll be abusing my body over the next few weeks so it's basically going to be damage control.

Gotta beat my record of 19 drinks in two hours on the Bali Beer Bus.

I'm picturing fire, meat, a whole butternut pumpkin, some sneaky chorizo sausages and beer.

It’s becoming more difficult to find an authentic vindaloo these days, most are now watered down versions of the real thing.

Faark, even the late Bombay Bicycle Club succumbed to the trend a while back and toned their curries down.

I went there for a work function a few months ago, we basically bought everything and shared it out, nice place, kinda weird though taking a leak while you're hearing monkey's chirping and the odd elephant doing it's hoot!

Haven’t been there for a while, apparently they’ve junked all that stuff and it’s back to being the Ovingham Hotel.

Before it was the Bombay Bicycle Club it was The Bowden Hill Tavern I think. (I was seeing a barmaid there at the time)

Was still the Ovingham Hotel during the BBC years, but was pretty well known just as the BBC.
