Pretty hard to get anything solid out of the creeks at the moment, I have not heard anything worth reporting apart from a few penola boys were being spoken to at a certin 21st.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the Creek next season.

2 years in a row theyve had a huge crack at the flag and just fallen short both times. After adding Footner, Love and Porter to the side with only the loss of Kelly from 06 they probably thought that would've been enough.

Im sure theres no money issues up there and with the points system coming in they will definitely be able to stock up on players they need without the salary cap hindering there advances on players.

Speaking of the points system talk of that has died down does anyone know anymore or are we just biding our time?

Geez with Willungas dominance in recent years winning 4 straight, can anyone tell me who won the premiership the year before their stranglehold of the comp? Seems such a long time ago!

Correct GWW. McLaren beat Strathalbyn at Willunga in 2003 and haven't been a threat since. Perhaps those boys have been distracted by the McLaren Vale Netball Club? They distract me... HOT HOT HOT!!

Had the players???

They were the 3rd best side in '03 and got lucky. But I still clapped them on their victory lap - no sour grapes here, just stating facts.
Then they lost Norm Burgman, and that was that. The whole club has been ordinary ever since, players, supporters, committee etc.

easily the most hated club in the league..... anyone disagree?

I follow the league from a distance jingles, but was surprised to hear you say McLaren is the most hated club in the league. Not disputing you by any means, but just didn't realise this may be the case, whats the basic reason for this?

They may have been the 3rd best side when they won the flag, but lets face it Willunga were probably the 2nd best side this year, and Strath wouldn't have been the "first" side when they won it a few years ago either.

Don't get me wrong GWW, I was simply commenting on another comment saying that "they had the players" in the years following thier premiership.

I think it was a great one to win (03) and good on 'em, flags are only sweater if you not supposed to win 'em.

I'm not sure of the reasons why other clubs don't like them, and I might be talking out of school, but I've heard that they are mouthy (not all) out on the ground without backing it up with solid, consistant performances.

The players and committee stuffed things up when Trevor Mitten was appointed as coach for '05,and there was a player revolt, Mitten was then sacked after 1 week and the club hasn't recovered. The players that got Mitten the arse have pretty much all gone now, a great lesson that the club is always bigger than the players!!!

McLaren were sensational in 03. They were the 5th best side all year, upset the highly fancied (star studded) line up of the Saints in the elimination final and never looked back from that point. Didnt have the best list but at the end of the day they had the best TEAM!

I'm not sure that they would "easily" be the most hated club in the league, they haven't exact been in the league that long enough to be hated.

All in all Great Southern doesn't seem to have many hated clubs, everyone seems to have a good healthy rivalry with each other.

McLaren got that reputation with a couple of clubs early in the piece and it has stuck for a while. The best thing about the GSFL is that you have a red hot match on Saturday, but off the field you can always have a chat and a beer with your rivals. That is why I always enjoyed association footy, very little bitching it was just good to play with lads from other clubs

I dont know if Walsh had quite the year that people expected but he will still be a massive loss, beacuse ruckman are just so hard to find. With Duff not doing alot of rucking and Simmons still learning the trade how do you replace him. Any more info on this Galpin bloke. Where does he play?
