HAWTHORN star Will Day will be sidelined for a large chunk of the home and away season after a stress fracture was discovered in his foot on Monday night.

The 23-year-old is expected to be sidelined until at least the Hawks' next bye in round 15 and could miss up to four months.

Pretty extreme measures (but understandable) by Will to avoid playing on R Atkins this week

Seems the petracca family are still cranky at Melbourne.

I don't get this at all. Yes he got injured and Melbourne may have made a blue putting back out there. But that's footy.
It seems Melbourne are in meltdown mode.
They were b grade yesterday at best.

I notice all the stories about Goodwins activities but I've seen nobody putting their head on the block and telling their truth publically. It's rumour!
I just don't think the leadership group get along so it's a fractured playing group.

Jye Amiss is the most overrated player in AFL history. Game almost over, one disposal which was out on the full ……against Richmond

The Saints Gather Round gurnsey is another good one I reckon, Melbourne's was better IMO which is based on their 1997 Pre-season gurnsey.

Staggers me the stupidity of people, Crows supporters in the office on the Port v Hawks game blah blah blah, Port got lucky, we're still so much better than them we're still well above them blah blah blah, i didn't engage as i don't speak fluent moron. How were Port lucky?

Facts are 1 week is huge amount of time in footy, let alone the next month!. The Crows are 1 game ahead of Port with GWS at Home and Freo away in the next 2 weeks the Carlton at home leading in to the showdown, Port have Sydney (away) and Roos at home then the Dogs in Ballarat, i can see Port and being even on wins leading in to the showdown possible a win ahead should Port jag a win over Sydney.

Makes for a cracking Showdown, I know its a month away, but I'm super keen for this one!

Clearly they werent lucky. Yeah in a game decided by less than a goal or two there is 'moments of luck' but even then you can make a case of hard work paying off, eg you don't normally take advantage of bad bounce by walking to the footy youve generally worked hard to get in that position, most dodgy free kicks go to the bloke with the ball so youve worked hard to win the footy first. ect.

Port were real good Sunday evening, came with a clear plan in mind, came with a trick or two up the sleeze. Rozee to half back worked dream whilst also killing my supercoach team after i traded him out.

I think why they havent performed as well as they would like they imo are clearly not a team who ISNT playing for their coach. Despite all the outside noise it doesnt appear to me that Hinkley has lost the group.

They are still a work in progress; however, it was noted by David King a few weeks back and I've watched closely in recent times, but JHF does a lot of walking during a game. He's a very good player and he's going to be a superstar but when looking closely it is very noticeable.

Lachie Jones was real good on the weekend imo. If he can find a way to be a tad more consistent, he could be very very handy.

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan’s playing future is in the hands of the AFL amid calls for the troubled star to be stood down, Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge says.

The number one draft pick has not played a game this season because of personal issues, and it is unclear when or whether he will return to action.

Prominent past players have led calls this week for the Bulldogs to stand down Ugle-Hagan after new vision of the 23-year-old partying emerged on social media.

“I try not to think about the social media side of things too much,” Beveridge said on Thursday.

"At the moment the decision-making in regards to Marra’s future and what that entails is significantly in the AFL’s hands.

“We’re waiting on them to do certain things and we’re continually interacting with them and working through it to work out what’s best for Marra.”
