My parents got back from the US on Monday and had no issues anywhere - obviously things have changed over the last week though

I have some friends over there now, it's fine. They have gone to New York and a few other places, it's still a good trip and a good place to go, the only difference will be by the time you go there will just be more businesses closed.

By the way, the Dow rallied to a 7.87% increase last night. Why? Because Trump panicked when US bonds were being sold off by other countries, notably Japan. The US bond is what allows it to literally print money and rack up huge debt levels. If that tanks, the US is literally faarked.

His so called tariff ceasefire for 90 days does little … before he did it the effective US tariff rate was 32%, it’s now 25%, still miles higher than any nation on Earth.

This is the ‘vindication’ he needed to justify his genius. He has spooked the global markets so much that any change to his insane tariff policies is seen as a win, because the underlying US economy is very strong, so any ‘removal’ or reduction in tariffs gets them back to the great economy they have.

Listened to a high level economist yesterday, while most of it went over my head, he believes the tariffs are solely focused on China and reducing their influence in the world, if this doesn't happen then Taiwan is under huge threat and the US is sick of being the big brother for everyone and having to help out. Trump puts tariffs on Canada/Mexico, but then agrees to remove them if those countries place tariffs on China.

Either way Trade is going to slow and so is the global economy, not sure thats a good thing for us down here.
