The cowardice of the majority of Republicans in Congress, whilst not surprising anymore, is still nevertheless mind boggling.

They know that these tariffs will destroy the US economy and perhaps lead the global economy into a recession, but they don’t care.

They know that these tariffs are political suicide, as last evidenced by the Republican Smoot-Hawley Tariffs is 1930 when they massively hiked up tariffs and as a consequence, the Republicans held Congress for only 4 of the next 62 years, but they don’t care.

They know that they can revoke Trump’s Executive Orders at any time to stop him unilaterally imposing these lunacy tariffs, but they don’t care.

The only thing they care about is being in Congress. Not doing anything mind you, just being there, enjoying the power (which they have completely handed over to Trump] and all the perks and money that comes with it.

There are plenty of Democrats who are in Congress for the same reason, but they don’t even go close to the dishonour, greed and complete immorality of the Republicans.

They will be decimated at the mid-terms next year, but it will be too late when they realise they’ve been led over the cliff.
