All the best to our own Jack O'Loughlin, who has now joined the Colorado Rockies organisation.

Did pretty well in his stint in the majors, it was just that last outing against Baltimore

White Sox the 4th team since 1913 to have 0 earned runs through first 4 starts.

There aren't going to be many positives so I'm taking the little wins.

Nah, I had the Statcast thing going. 2 errors from Muncy doesn't help, and Snell is renowned as a slow starter. He'll be fine

The MLB has reinstated 17 players who were on the permanently ineligible list for their Hall of Fame.

Most notably amongst that list, are Pete Rose, and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson.

Purely on stats alone, these two are first ballot hall of famers, absolute no-doubters at all when it comes to the highest echelon of baseball.

Jackson was banned at 32 years old, with plenty more years of production to come. He has the 4th highest batting average in history, he was named in 1999 at 35th in The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest baseball Players, and was a finalist on the MLB All Century team. Reportedly, Babe Ruth modelled his swing on Jackson's.

Pete Rose is perhaps the greatest winner in all of sports, playing in nearly 2000 victories as a player. The Hit King is the all time leader in hits, games played & singles, made the All Star team on 17 occasions, in 5 different positions (also a record). Rose also made the All Century Team.

Jackson is notorious for being a member of the 1919 Black Sox, where 8 players were banned for throwing the World Series. There was always conjecture over Jackson's involvement, as he performed strongly in that series, batting .375. He also is alleged to have refused the $5,000 bribe twice, only for a team mate to throw it in his room on the floor. He was also illiterate, casting doubt over him reading and agreeing to any such bribe.

Rose, on the other hand, has a somewhat murkier past. As manager of the Cincinnati Reds, he was found to be betting on games. He initially denied the allegations, only to later claim that he only ever bet on games for the Reds to win. He also served gaol time for tax evasion, and was implicated in a statutory rape case in 2016 from an incident in the 70's. The case was dismissed when both sides reached an agreement.

For my 2 cents, I can see Jackson getting in, but not Rose. Rose's life after baseball was a mess, and he did himself no favours with the way he conducted himself of the legal trouble he got into. Jackson got on with his lot quietly and lived a normal life.
