Most skilled not sure about best
Great players get it done in finals and other big games
Not sure Eddie did that

30 goals in 13 finals.

Better than I thought
I guess the GF comes to mind where he really struggled
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Stop the discussion.

( Milne gets an honorable mention and whoever mentioned Ginnivan gets a 30 day ban )

Perhaps, but not the best small forward ever. Not even close.

Lethal?

I actually posted my thoughts on this on here years ago….

By memory Matthews record was superior. There were a number that again by memory had better records.

Think Milne and even LaCras were on the list along with Cyril. Will see if I can find it..

Matthews has 900+ goals. Kicked 91 goals in a year he averaged 27.4 disposals a game...

Hence my earlier post saying it depended on how people viewed Matthews, as to whether you could argue Eddie was the GOAT small forward.

If you included the likes of KB & Lethal, Eddie would be scraping onto the podium.

Not that any of this is remotely related to 2025, but Mathews was a gutless thug.

So are those who don't declare a AFL team supported, but choose to take pot shots from the cheap seats.....

Your not short of an opinion on the AFL though, and practically everything else. Just love to hang shit on your teams. No doubt when the Bays are shit again you will vanish of the forum. Pretty gutless hey?

How many of those hits in that short montage was a gutless hit from behind his opponent?

I rest my case.

As a North supporter you’d understand that he also cut the great Barrie Robran’s career short by an unnecessary action in a State game

:X :YMHUG:

Faaark, this is so way off track for this thread. #-o

It is and it isn’t. He played like many in his era and gave as good as he got … except, he had an appalling habit of king hits from behind, and maybe it’s just me, but that’s just gutless in my book.
