20 years ago today Eddie Betts made his AFL debut.

20 years ago tomorrow Lance Franklin made his AFL debut.

704 games, 1706 goals.

350 / 640
354 / 1066

Consider ourselves lucky to have seen these two.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Eddie is hands down the best small forward of his generation, if not all time (depending how you view Leigh Matthews).

Fair call.

The art of the genuine small forward seems to be on the brink of extinction.

Who do we have currently getting around that may end up being close to the category of great small forwards. The best we have getting around in no particular order are:

-Jack Higgins
-Gyran Miers
-Willi Rioli
-Tyson Stengle
-Tom Papley
-Toby Greene
-Maybe Jack Ginnivan, Rachele (who will probably end up more a mid)

Betts is the best small forward of the 00's.

Stop the discussion.

( Milne gets an honorable mention and whoever mentioned Ginnivan gets a 30 day ban )

I’m a big Eddie fan but I’d pick Milne to play in a GF before Eddie

Ginnivan is 185cm.

I'd take Cyril over Eddie.

Nah, I can't agree with this. A small forward's job is to kick goals, Cyril didn't do that enough. Two seasons of 40+ with a high of 47, against seven seasons, with a high of 75 goals.

Yeah definitely pay Charlie Cameron and Jamie Elliott.

Dylan Moore in particular and even Bobby Hill probably push much higher up the ground than the traditional 'small forward / forward pocket'.

Nick Watson will probably be one of the better ones in a year or two.
