AFL Round 2 2025

Talk on the national game

Re: AFL Round 2 2025

Jarman Impey played his 200th game last night, I've often said not many players have left Port and become better players at their new clubs ( post S Burgoyne any way ) but Impey has certainly become a better player at Hawthorn, obviously now playing in a better side helps but he's clearly an important player and leader for them.

But, last night when he gave his pregnant Mrs a kiss before running through the banner with a miniature guernsey for his unborn to celebrate his 200th....what the f*ck are we doing here?
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

We can’t keep doing the same thing as it ain’t working

Curnow has been terrible
If you’re not fit don’t play
If you are fit pull ya head in and make a contest

Yet those 2 are cooked…. But they have some mates

Saad running around in circles and then kicking sideways isn’t helping - Williams too.

I’d be attacking through whomever saad is supposed to be defending every time

Saad runs in circles with the ball coz when he looks up there’s nothing on offer.
He’s never been a ‘defender’ and as such he creates alot of movement from back half.
It’s our forwards letting us down not our mids or backline.
Hope Harry’s sniffles clear up and he feels 100% soon as our season is falling away very quickly.

Ed Curnow in retirement would have been a better option than Charlie last night

We’d be even more effed without Cripps, TDK and Weitering.
They bust their arse week in and week out.

The reason why there's nothing on offer when Saad lifts his eyes is because he takes 3 or 4 steps, bounces it, THEN looks up to see what opposition player he can kick it to on their advantage side.

Bloke is an absolute crab, he's like a Temu version of Andy bloody McGrath and that's saying something...

My take aways from last night, which are of no consequence.

- Please Lord, don't let Cripps get injured. If so we are cooked.
- Sam Walsh still off the pace
- Motlop had a really good game, hopefully these good games can be a bit more consistent
- Silvagni is a really good young player
- Please Lord, don't let TDK get injured.
- Need more composure in front of goal and a hell of a lot more composure when under pressure in defence.

Still disappointed, but there were some green shoots, after the last 3 quarters against Richmond.

It’s a family show now………..,
Anything that makes people feel good!

The hugging of opposition players and laughing and carrying on 2 seconds after a loss does my head in.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Darcy Byrne-Jones won one, so did your mate Docherty. What's the point here, I'm still right!

Jury is still out but I think he’s very capable in the role.
He does need a proven experienced assistant though.
Our assistants have been there too long with no real rotation through there.

I’m not throwing the towel in yet as it’s a long season but we can’t stick with the same 22 currently.
Changes:
Docherty out(don’t care where just out)
SOS down back
McGovern on the wing or half forward
Harry to start in the ruck and TDK at FF(until Pittonet is back)
Charlie to come up to CHF with McGovern
Young Moir to come in(showed glimpses in the 2 games he played late last year)
Pittonet is injured but must come straight back in to allow TDK more time forward
Durdin injured currently but must play all year to see if he’s up to it(jury is out on him)
Keep persisting with Motlop even throw him at centre bounces occasionally.

There’s not a lot in the VFL side to come in but there’s enough talent in the team currently to be pushing for finals.

TDK needs to ruck. Top 10 player in the comp IMO - will likely be the highest paid player in the comp at end of this year

You could have Carey Buddy and Ablett as Carltons key forwards and they still wouldn't win games with Vossy' bomb it long gameplan to invisible small forwards.

Look at Brisbane Cameron Bailey Ah-Chee Lohmann Rayner Mcarthy (injured)
Compared to Motlop Fogarty Williams Durdin
