The game ended in a tie.
Between the final ball and the super over there was lots of heated discussion, but it was out of frogbox vision so you could only hear it.
Country Club won and took their shirts off and one even got carried off the ground, so it must've been quite heated.

Are you sure it went to tribunal ?

Section 1
ICC & Ramblers deciding midweek to a handshake agreement to not play last Saturday shows where this association is heading.
It may make absolutely no difference to ladder positions, but to me, it's piss weak.

Wait, what? Just looked at the score and while Ramblers had the points bagged why wouldn't they at least see what the first two hours held?

Exactly my point.
ICC had quite a few out, yet you still rock up week 2 and play for a few hours.
It should be entered as an outright win/loss, or a forfeit.

Really? First innings was done, go enjoy the long weekend, spend time with the family before finals.

Quite a few out? Who were they missing apart from Styles who was suspended?
Their team on PlayHQ looks pretty similar to what it's been with their incumbents/best players still playing (Sampson, Lock, Spall, L. Ferguson, Foster and Hein has played all season plus Baldwin named but didn't bat so I assume he was a second weeker).

If everyone agreed to enjoy the long weekend instead, what is the issue? The result was inevitable, it was just going to be by how much.

As you said, it makes no difference to the ladder and it shouldn't really affect your time in the house, I would've done the same if the choice was presented to me, a result had been reached.

Without speaking to Moe or on his behalf I think his point is the association just allows players and clubs to do as they please, no longer do they run the show more so just watch on.

On a side note congratulations to Andrew Wright who this week will participate in his 1000th game of cricket.

356 games played
644 games umpired

That's an amazing achievement, deserves some plaudits.

This. But will then spend their time ‘investigating’ us at Coro for “mowing the grass shorter in week 2” after ICC put in a complaint because they lost. (Like we have any bearing whatsoever over what the council do). The racial vilification tribunal we were involved in, which ICC didn’t bother rocking up to, was just as much about the length of the grass as the racial vilification itself. It’s gone beyond laughable. Fresh faces are needed.

I don't think it tarnishes the integrity of the comp in any shape or form, umpire gets paid for doing nothing, save on new balls, gives blokes a Saturday off heading into the finals (especially when most Saturday's have been stinkers), gets a few more heads at the lower grades or you get to go have a peak at the teams you could be playing in the finals.
I loved my cricket each week but also loved a day off near the end of the season.

Sadly, i think it's a true reflection of a common attitude across the state to playing the game. Finding many will play if they don't have anything better on but actually playing is the last option, especially in the lower standards of the game.

Trying to find a team each week for our country was an absolute battle for the captain this year. Every week the poll of who is available would go out on a Monday and then be filled with 'ill let you know Thursday/Friday'. Some would have genuine reasons such as work-related stuff but most were waiting on what their friends were doing that Saturday / Saturday night, a couple needed to wait on the misses permission. lots of if you can get eleven others i won't play

Name another sport that people 'love' to 'hate' as much as cricket.

While everyone is playing out in 36° you're in the pool or the pub enjoying a little freshen up in the second last round. Fair leg up I reckon.

Dont over think it.

Our finals series are based of the SANFL system so there is always a GF team coming off a weeks bye..... in the last ten years that has resulted in the higher ranked side losing more often than not.
