You'd hope not

You can't make a career in the longer formats of the game batting like that.

I am far from a warner fan (can't stand him) but he atleast modified his game to suit.

He's a kid. And obviously very talented and i would love to see him do well. But it's clear he's not ready. Yet.

Average of 32.20 ranks 92nd best all time
30th best average of all players to reach 50+ games
17th best average of all players to reach 75+ games (out of 23).

19th all time leading run scorer.

Has much as he fails, his stats surprisingly don't stack up that bad

They're pretty ordinary aren't they?

If he's the 17th most capped player then you'd expect him to have notched up a few tons.

E.g. 30th best average of all players to reach 50+ games - how many total? Wouldn't think there'd be too many specialist batsmen with a worse average for SA who've played that many games.

An average of 32 is ok for an alrounder………….

Whilst I don't disagree that T20 has had an impact on first class batting these low scores were are seeing are mostly because of the more bowler friendly wickets and mostly because of the reconditioned Kookaburra Ball.
