Yep. Didn’t like losing to them but for the sake of world cricket we need them.

I don't think they can be consistently good with such a weak batting line up but with three handy spinners and a decent pace attack if they get Bunsen burners or Green seamers they could be more of a chance than playing on flat wickets. Will be interesting to see what pitches they produce when Australia travel to the Caribbean in the middle of the year, bowling friendly wickets will give them a chance of winning another test against Australia.

It was obviously the pitch that helped the Windies the most in winning the match, Bunsens like that definitely even up the contest and the Windies spinners out performed the Pakistani spinners. A pitch like that can cancel out the fact that the Windies batting lineup is alot weaker than Pakistan's.

Absolutely, but remember the Windies were the LO'4's a few years ago. Throw in the win against Australia last summer and there is the smallest glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Bit of a watch on this (news from yesterday)- Temba Bavuma has a left elbow injury, the same one he has injured before, fracturing it in 2022 missing three months then injured it last year during an ODI against Ireland and missed SA's test series against Bangladesh. It's 8 weeks until the WTC Final so he could be in a race against time to be fit for it. He has been SA's second highest run scorer in this WTC cycle averaging 60.90 in 7 tests being their best batter in tests of late.

Some of the Bavuma digs were made in bowler dominated matches- so that average is superb
For a sMAl man he will be a BIG loss
