51 to win

50 to win the BGT, a tie will do
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He's quickly become the JFM of Test cricket! Caught the opposition off guard first time they came up against him and the media creamed their underwear over him.

Liking the smart positive intent of both these batsman.

Just playing good cricket shots going along at 5 an over

Only “rash” shot has been to a wide long hop to Head.

Positive attacking cricket, not reckless silly cricket.

That’s what the grumpy old men like!

Having said that I’m sure Konstas will learn and develop into a good test cricketer!

We must stay positive and play attacking cricket, take a few risks

The approach and mindset has been correct
Sometimes the execution is incorrect

Sydney Sammy needs to learn to be positive not reckless
He was about half an hour off finishing the Indians off though
On this deck 22 off 17 - Im contented with that- for a rookie in his 2nd test

Reminds me of a young Damien Martyn in his younger years, promised the world, played a couple of "D Grade" shots and got banished from test cricket for a number of years, came back one of the best middle test batsman ever

Unfortunately these young kids get paid too much, believe the rubbish written about them in the media and on social media, they play one decent innings in the Mickey Mouse game and they are branded superstars

I think he has been smart enough to adjust his game to the conditions that have been put in front of him. He doesnt bat like this in the shield games i have seen,
He was faced with the best bowler in the world that only Head had succeeded against, he came up with a plan and executed it on the biggest stage of all, Boxing Day at the G.
Gets to Sydney and he's still confronting the best bowler in the world but on a pitch that is offering huge assistance and he comes up with what he thinks is his best chance of succeeding, get some runs before you get one with your name on it, averaging 22.5 for the Test looks pretty good

Agree with Daisy here, he did not bat like this in Shield or even for Aus Second X1 vs India. He could not put bat on ball first two overs he faced against Bumrah on Boxing Day and would have nicked off for zero if did not change his plan. It totally rattled the Indians and set the match up for Australia to win.

He would have been encouraged by his teammates to keep batting that way this Test, you can’t have them all laughing and cheering and carrying on when he batted like that in Melbourne and then be livid with him in Sydney.

He will settle down in Sri Lanka I believe, time will tell
