Why does the whole of Australia rely on you and me @Spargo?

Bonus is that not only is it a good treatment for acute gout, but also the severe osteoarthritis I have in both knees, so have now got a stockpile to last a while.
Hooray, I can get some sleep tonight.

I got a BIG bout of gout last night
For whatever reasons my go to drug for great pain relief is Prednesilone
But
For whatever reasons the docs are loathe to prescribe me Prednesilone any more
Today i paid a visit to the GP
PLAN A
I told the that Prednesilone was magical - Ive run out and .....
GP said they wont write a prescription
PLAN B
Having read that Dedja got relief from Arthrexin- I asked for it
GP agreed

Prednisolone is a steroid. They give to kids in liquid form for croup, people who suffer from Alopecia take it, and yes it’s very effective in treating gout attacks. Long term use though can have serious side effects.

dedja wrote:My gout initially settled with Arthrexin then became acute again and is still evident over 2 weeks later … bottom line, Arthrexin was pretty much useless, it’s just an anti-inflammatory, nothing else.
Have now been prescribed Panafcortelone (prednisolone) so hopefully that will fully knock it on the head. As it’s just my 3rd episode in 20 years it’s been treated as acute, not chronic so no ongoing medication required.
Dear mal, I’m definitely not your mate, claiming so is extremely disingenuous.
