It’s Sydney.
Their sports events are attended by theatre goers. Probably need to be told on the scoreboard when to applaud

It doesn't feel like an Australian test through the TV

I saw later that Simon Taufel on Ch7 stated that the bails are not taken into account by DRS, and that allowed the ball to be categorised as not within the 50% hit zone (vertically). The supposed reason is that the bails aren’t a ‘square’ shape, so it would be too complicated to use them in ball tracking.

Interesting story on this one.

The rules were adjusted in 2021 to include the bails, but it seems the DRS guys didn't get the memo!

Article from CA in 2021 confirming the addition of the bails... https://www.cricket.com.au/news/3313947 ... drs-tweaks

Sounds like there was an update to playing conditions and not the laws of the game, or visa versa

I made no comment as to the value or otherwise of the welcome to country, just that its duration was uncertain.

But if you want to project your own preconceptions onto my comments and statements then that's on you, not me.

You do you.

Anthems are generally sung to a somewhat predictable tempo and have set lyrics.
A speech including banter with the crowd is far more likely to have a variable duration than the anthem.

It's interesting isn't it.

Their bottom 3 are terrible.

But 7&8 are above average.

It's a perplexing list.

I seriously dont get the booing of Kholi. Yeah he's pushed the envelope of behaviour (our players arent orphans though) so why boo him?

Smacks of pettiness.
