Great comedy factor in that last 30 mins, but agree with those that say we should have declared to get a few overs at them before stumps.

I’m happy we’ve batted on to give Cummins and Starc more rest

Plus there’ll be a few egos in the Indian side that’ll back themselves in to chase down 330+ in 85 odd overs

The other thing is getting it down to 80-85 overs means we dont need to rely on a 5th bowler input

Can we back it up tomorrow? We’re more aged than even the Aussie line up so it’s our one major liability.

Everyone was saying SA waited too long against Tassie, setting them 429.

We then dismissed them for 426.

Plenty of time for us to take ten wickets. It's true that we've forgone the chance to have a go at them for an awkward 30-minute period or so - and we probably could have started hitting out a bit more - but I reckon those runs could be valuable. Personally I don't buy that we had a better chance of winning this match by declaring.

Edit: great debate though.

Interesting, also add in the fact that a few of the Indian batsmen don't do defensive batting. Thing Jaiswall and Pant.

You don't need to dangle a carrot, they only play one way. Kholi and Rahul, are capable of mindset changes, but not the rest.

If they start chasing and lose a few wickets, then this won't end in a draw, they can't bat that way.

Either Australia win or India win this one.

I reckon Mitch is a fiend, could keep up with his old man if he had to.

I seen them do a cross after Mitch's first return century, the old man was lit as after pulling an all nighter.

I'd pick him as more of a red drinker where Mitch would be a beer man.

Looks like the ICC are after Konstas re his using crowd mobile phones for selfies with the crowd when fielding in India 1st Innings

I recall when it first happened the Fox commentators were all over it like a rash stating that its not permissable

we all know it was all just innocent but surely the Australian Management should have got a message to him pretty quickly which didn't happen

Hopefully common sense prevails here

Have to agree with this. He was much maligned on here (and around the world) in his early days, and rightly so, made enormous amount of errors.

But he has had a brilliant Test match, can’t think of one decision he has got wrong. Good on him.

Have to agree with this. He was much maligned on here (and around the world) in his early days, and rightly so, made enormous amount of errors.

But he has had a brilliant Test match, can’t think of one decision he has got wrong. Good on him.

He looks calmer in the way he goes about it.
