Unless you're talking about the administration of CA I'm not sure what else could've been done, I think player for player they are a better XI than us.

My only suggestions are to have more shield games prior to the first test for players to audition for and force all available players to play in them. Get rid of junk ODI's and T20's in November/December, play them in the new year.

Surely Webster is looking at a debut next test at Marsh's expense, everyone else has done enough to keep their spots for now, I'd rather see us take a risk in Sri Lanka though trying to get some experience into the group.

Anything under 350 and India will get.

290 odd is awkward but I reckon they'll get it.

Far too many 2nd rate shield cricketers are in charge of the Australian set up, we need to get former Test cricketers involved, but theyre all commentating

I'm assuming you're referring to Ponting?

Reckon Aussies will bat first hour after tea then declare and give themselves 110 to 120 overs to rock & roll India.. hopefully with around 280 lead.

Won't be enough, this has choke written all over it.

Not sure what it is but over the past few years our intensity seems to drop 10-15% per day, we take a stranglehold on many matches but we can drop our heads very quickly when things don't go our way.

I can only recall us digging ourselves out of a hole once in recent history, that was the Cummins/Lyon partnership @ Edgbaston.

I could be wrong but we've let more slip than we've come back from, I hope I'm wrong on this occasion but we're neither here nor there atm.

Where to with Konstas? Dazzled them in his first innings, they clogged his holes up in the 2nd dig, I love seeing the kids getting a gig but I do feel that he's a little ahead of himself. He has played one more test than I have so far though, I hope he makes the grade, he can if he uses the the field settings to his advantage moving forward.

The simple answer is, its the age of our team. Its not easy backing up 5 days in a row in your mid 30s
I think Konstas did look to toy with them in the 2nd innings by taking short singles into gaps created by the deep fielders. I think he has the smarts to make it.
Hot Take- are we making Bumrah look just that little bit better because our batsman are so bad. The stat about more false shots than any other Test is troubling on this wicket. Dont gte me wrong his bowlng today has been outstanding but this is probably as weak as we have been since the mid 80's

Disagree with the hot take. Bumrah is spectacular, never seen a bloke come to Australia and bowl better. He's made everyone look second rate and I think it's the other away around that he's making some blokes seem worse then they actually are. Take Bunrah out of this and Australia destroy India easily

Seriously, I reckon you’ll come back as a carp in your 2nd life … give up as soon as you’re hooked.

Rain saved the Indians last Test, and still have a good chance to win this one. Maybe wait and see how the series pans out.

A better analysis would be "look at the talent that they have dropped" with their unforced changes.

It’s basically Bumrah v Australia. The rest of their bowlers are pedestrian plodders and their top order batting is just as fragile as ours.
Bailey is a deadset disagrace, the constant love affair with Marsh who is picked as an all rounder but doesn’t bowl and can’t bat is absurd and I know you have to play Trav but he is nowhere near fit to play IMO. You now have Starc possibly injured, Boland looking proppy and Lyon who looks like he is celebrating his 60th birthday. A lot of old and tired legs out there and everyone saw this coming except the selectors. Yeah McSweeney didn’t look great opening but tell me he couldn’t do the job Marsh is doing. I know Khawaja and a few others want to retire after the Ashes at home next year but I’d be forcing them out now

trouble is with our bowlers in the SS or Mickey Mouse cricket is that they are all injury prone as well, the decent ones that is

He would be the no1 target.
Anything has to be better than Ronald, George and Divenuto. Not sure who the bowling coach is but not required anyway.

Of course we can still win it but how long do you keep persisting with the same brittle lineup?
Eventually you need to start refreshing this side and regardless of what happens here I’d hope the team looks substantially different by time the Ashes roll around
