If Whitnell did join the SANFL isn't he bound legally to play for the Eagles with his hair colour?

He won't be going country. There's no way.
Another of his former team-mates will be there with him at North too.
Expect to see young Cohen Thiele make an impression as well with the Roosters.

Could easily believe that:

Interesting evidence of this is a few VFL players have been told they will be drafted, as well it is a draft with little depth in it, Sydney are only drafting twice, nothing after 30 so this shows there is not much confidence in later picks.

Be ready for numerous smokies from our SANFL clubs being drafted, and not all kids

Yeah into todays paper Ward has officially signed for North but intresting enough he was quoted as saying playing at west with his mates was definatly his preferred option, and he would of been there if they had room in the salary cap. Do you want to be recruiting players that openly say your there preffered second option.

Great news for us Central supporters, Steinberner and Cowan are both going to play in 2008 making them virtual recruits, add to this Cameron Faulkner who has confirmed he will play for the Dogs as long as he doesn't get drafted.

Stewie Dew look ever more likely to play for the Dogs, it is one of those worts kept secret sort of situation, The Gowans are still undecided but looks like if Dew plays they will want to play another year with him. Add to this 1-2 more recruits and the Dogs will be looking extremly strong again.
