She also said brilliant

Ordered one in on Saturday night. Beef with chips and pepper gravy, salad on the side.

Beef schnitty was thick and perfectly cooked, I think the pizza box is a master stroke* as the base was still crispy when it arrived to the homestead.

Pepper gravy was excellent, thick and peppery in both forms, not just filled with pepper corns. Salad was huge with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion in a light vinegar / olive oil dressing.

Fed Mrs Boon and myself Saturday night and I had the left overs for dinner last night. $50 delivered and 3 meals out of it.

9/10.

The Oven at Strathalbyn

A wide range of pizzas to choose from

Garlic bread
.Lambuel L Jackson a marinated lamb pizza.
Hawaiian
Red Hot - cheese ham, pepperoni, onion, jalapenos.

All were cooked beautifully.

Also have some dessert pizzas
Strawberry nutella
Cinnamon
Apple pie
Not the correct names but all I can recall.
Again were absolutely superb.

Highly recommend

Sammy’s On The Marina

Went for lunch last Saturday, been about 6 months since we have been but is somewhere we do go regularly in spring/summer.

Very friendly staff.

Both had what I’d call a seafood platter/basket.

Very fresh and came out quickly even though they had a function inside.

Has now changed owners to Indian owners I suspect , everything had a curry or turmeric taste to it. Squid, prawns, whiting, oysters, pawpaw salad… even the chips!

Food quality was great but this extra flavor has put me off going back TBH.

$143 for the two platters and two beers (Corona $13 each)

Service 10/10
Food 6/10
Value 7/10

Paying for the view.......food fairly good.....but for what you pay its not much more than a glorified fish and chip joint.

Service good......Food (bit better than a fish and chip joint)........Value 2/10........Views 15/10

Dozen Oysters kilpatrick $55......Whiting $50......Barra $55......Beers $13-$15....Spirits $16.......A thought very rude

Asian Central - Julian Tce, Gawler

Well, what can one say? The decor and interior of the restaurant give you the feeling they aren't there for the ambiance but the food and they are bang on in doing so. There's a plethora of dishes to pick from, think of a base Chinese meal, black bean, honey, soy, ginger whatever you like and pick your protein of beef, chicken, pork, seafood....duck. Mmmm, crispy duck.

We went the banquet, $29 per person and added some mains as I wanted to try the duck. Mmmm, crispy duck.

ENTREES
Prawn Chips - Massive plate
Combination Spring Rolls - Good size
Satay Chicken Skewers - Top notch
Salt & Pepper Squid - Excellent 10/10
MAINS
Garlic Prawns with (optional) Ginger - Really good
Mongolian Beef - See above
Black Bean Beef - Ditto
Chicken & Cashew Nuts - Ditto
Teriyaki Chicken - Yep
Vegetarian Hokkien Noodles - Sneaky spicy
Vegetarian Fried Rice - Same

I added to mine number 33. BANGKOK Sauce A sweet chilli and hoisin sauce combination & served a sizzling plate. Recommended with chicken, seafood or duck. Best served medium spice. Mmm duck.

This was nothing short of the best duck I have had and I thought the smoked duck in Bespoke at Adelaide Oval was good, this was better. I could eat that little quacker all day long.

Ambiance - 3/10 but who cares
Service - 6/10 not overly attentive and got a couple of drinks wrong even though they wrote it down
Food - 8.5/10
Value - 8.5/10 - $310 for 6 people with everyone having a drink or two. +/- $50 per head.

If you're in G Town or nearby, give it a whirl. You won't be disappointed.
