Dittmar had a great year. Don't forget he was out injured mid season.

I wouldn't expect a huge influx of recruits this year too,
apparently we're after just a few select key position recruits & are aiming for quality, not quantity.
Less recruits might give us more money in the kitty to pay our top players as well.

Can’t do that I’m afraid.
The deal negotiated with the two AFL clubs sees the salary cap go down from $360k to $290k.

20 initial inductees selected by a group of about 8 chaired by Tom Zorich.
Sodas was emcee.
Two of the 20 were announced as legends... John Platten and founder Norm Russell. Norm was one of a few awarded posthumously
Others were Tony Casserly, Peter Beythein and Bob Zerella.
The twins and Gary Window brought the house down with their comedy routines whilst it was soooo great to see Daryl Hicks accept his nomination with Theresa. Alan Stewart showed he had one more motivational gem left in him and Matt Slade proved he could get a gig as a speaker.
Other winners were Peter Jonas, Roy Laird, Roger Girdham, Kris Grant, Paul Thomas, Dean Mobbs, Peter Vivian, Robin Mulholland and the nicest guy to ever play football Sonny Morey, all who were there and had responded.
Interested to see Tex Walker as a guest, I am sure he would have been as impressed as the rest of us at how the night played out.

Yeah looked like a great night and well done by the club.
Always tough to create these Hall of Fames 60 years into an existence and saw a bit of debate on who was in/out but thought the club got it pretty spot on.
Was always going to be tough on how to judge the 'old legends' vs the golden era legends. How do you compare someone like Daniel Schell with 7 premierships, Ken Farmer Medalist vs some of those older players who were success starved. Yves with 7 premierships as well.
I didn't see Daniel Healy's name, maybe thought he was a bit of an omission but 5 premierships including some as a captain. Maybe will be added in time to come.
Will clarify, all those in deserved to be in.....no question. More a question of how many can you put in.

I Agree, I was surprised Daniel Healy the clubs first premiership captain wasn't named.
But watch this space as I'm sure it cant be too long until he is.

Chris Gowans came in to work today and we chatted about some of the inductees not selected in the first 20, including Heals.
Chris mentioned that Daniel was on the selection committee and didn't feel it appropriate to be one of the first lot inducted.
I suspect he will be one of the first lot included in the next round of inductees in a couple of years time.
