If there's no other allrounder, should the ozzies play Carey at 6 and play an extra front line bowler, who can bat ?
Someone like Neser fits that criteria
IF ozzies go in with 4 bowlers + Head Smith and Lab to bowl , could be a bit sus

Will Mitch Marsh not bowl????

I'm not up to date with the latest.

Green wont bowl this summer at this stage
Marsh cannot be expected to bowl the overs Green did
The question is should Marsh be injured- who will the allrounder be ?

My memory is shot and i cant be bothered looking it up. Wasn't Green only bowling around 10 overs an innings, so around 3 a session. Surely they could get that out of Marsh and then Head if the pitch takes some turn.

Australia allrounder Cameron Green has opted to go under the knife for surgery on his back after scans found a "unique" issue that was exacerbating his back injury.

The surgery will rule him out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series with India, with an expected recovery time of six months that would also puts him out of February's Test tour of Sri Lanka and the ICC Champions Trophy tournament, as well as casting doubt on his availability for the next Indian Premier League season.

Although not ideal it stops us from potentially playing two all-rounders as specialist batsmen, It opens the door for someone else to step up too.

We pray for player mismanagement so that we can avoid selection snafus. The Australian way at the moment. Breaking Green for meaningless ODI's and teeball bullshit is ridiculous. Too many 'three format' players at the top level. Something has to give and unfortunately, it's Green.

Hope not
No one else will do it.
The other openers around the country like Bancroft, Harris, Renshaw etc have shown multiple times they aren’t up to it and they won’t throw the new kid to the wolves against Bumrah in Perth. Trav will open and the hope will be he can Travball a few runs early

Don't like the idea of Head opening just repeating the mistakes of ripping out a middle order bat and leaving a gaping hole

Khawaja
McSweeney (he basically opens now anyway) as Jim said Harris Renshaw Bancroft nope
Marnus
Smith
Head
Marsh
Carey
Cummins
Starc
Hazlewood
Lyon
