The Soprano's Finale (Warning: Possible Spoliers)

Postby Magpiespower » Wed Oct 31, 2007 8:01 am

Anybody watch it last night?

AJ annoyed the crap out of me (as ususal) but overall - and others I'm sure will disagree - I thought it was a satisfying way to end the show.

Thoughts on that controversial final scene and what was about to happen?

Glad it finally hit the screens here, I watched it in June when it aired in the US.

Sensational ending, I felt cheated for a couple of days but adjusted to it after watching a second time. Tony died when the screen went black, no doubt in my mind. The flashbacks to the lake with Bobby when he said "you don't even hear it coming, it just goes black" or something similar are a 'dead' giveaway...

How tense is that final scene when Meadow is parking the car though? Outstanding television.

And the popping noise when Philly's head is run over by his own car?

Was a great ending. Typical of 9 to stuff it up and delete the 10 seconds of silence before the credits. I reckon that would have left a lot of people confused as to what happened.

I think it definately shows that Tony would have been killed. The whole 'everything goes black' reference and the whole final scene is reminiscent of Tonys favourite scene in the Godfather.

When I first watched it, the part that made it obvious to me was the Members Only guy walking to the bathroom and the angle they showed. That showed that all he had to do was open the door and shoot. Thats what I believe happened.

The perfect ending to the greatest television drama ever created.

Watched it a few months ago and loved it.

It was the ideal ending. Definitely summed it up well. Just think how many people "faded to black" in the 6 seasons! You never think about it until you see it through Tony's eyes.

Season Six had flat spots compared to other seasons but it would have been hard knowing it MIGHT be the last one, and then deciding it was. As much as I don't want it to end, it would kill it to keep going.

A show with such depth and substance.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.
