Couple of decent finals on Saturday...with the Saints coming out top in both.

The A Grade an absolute belter with a two point margin. High quality football game.

The B Grade was a 6 goal margin and slightly tighter than the margin suggested. BSR kicked 1.3 before the Saints hit the scoreboard. Didn't apply scoreboard pressure when they had a chance and it cost them. Saints also kicked brilliantly 15.2 and some crackers from the boundary.....they couldnt miss.

Did a bit of a deep dive into the A Grade, North won their first final for 27 years on Sunday the last finals win was the 97 premiership where they beat Paul Myers (ironically North Clare’s coach now) South Clare.

Looking back from 2017 the year that BSR won their first of 6 Flags. Until now. Unsurprisingly they have played North Clare 17 times and won 14 of them. They have played each other 3 times at Brinkworth in those 17 games. North Clare has won 2 of the three games played at Brinkworth. Not much to go on since the last time they played each other in brinky was 2021. Hopefully it means at the least The roosters will make it a contest.

In the b grade south Clare and Bsr have a bit of history especially in the finals so will be a cracker of a game. Will get stats for wins and losses in that one obviously bsr has had the wood over them but they have played each other in two grand finals in that time.

Should be two good senior games of football tomorrow.

BSR vs North Clare in the a grade should be decent. North Clare potentially making their first GF in 20 plus years.

The B Grade will be an interesting watch. South on the face of it should win with the side they have put together. If that bunch of players cant be another clubs genuine B Grade their in some serious strife. Should be a cracker though.

I haven’t heard that and I’m surprised if it’s a b grader as I’m not aware of the situation but if true yeah unfortunately they have to go.

No place for racial or homophobic slurs and very disappointing.

Btw how does a player get zero weeks when they plead guilty to striking, behind play, high and caught on camera, a witness who calls it out is the ex umpire coordinator. Plus they have a history. Absolute joke of a tribunal!!! The league wants to protect the head and clubs to follow the concussion protocols yet let that go unpunished.

I don’t have a problem with it being brought to the leagues attention if it’s happened.

However Hard to see how a tribunal suspends for words when king hits are let go and we no the seriousness of what one hit punches can cause.

The NEFL tribunal is miles behind the rest of the state.

A Grade was as one side a prelim final as you will ever see. BSR winning by 100+ we now get the GF we all expected. Should be an epic final, Saints go in as favorites no doubt but it wouldn't be the first time BSR have won the flag as underdogs.

The B Grade prelim was an absolute classic (based on the scoreline, not the style of play). BSR narrowly missing a tough snap on the siren to go down by a point.

Really proud of the lads this year albeit we couldn't play at our best come finals. Went into the finals with 8 blokes 21 and under, sticking true to the young guys that got us in that position. Whilst we didn't get the ultimate success the season its self will be regarded a successful one. Played with 21 players every game this year, finished the minor round second and got valuable senior footy into a bunch of kids. With a ton load of expected guys back next year i think our b grade can remain in the top few for a while to come.

The Saints should be too strong for South in the GF and to be honest I hope they do win it. At least the Saints are their clubs genuine b grade albeit they have A grade standard footballers out there, their selection is aimed to win the A grade flag.

Blake Launer wins the A Grade Mail Medal, 6 votes ahead of Matt Longbottom. Surprisingly Pete Meyer announces Blake is moving to Darwin at the end of the year and will not be playing next year.

Gareth Ottens wins the B Grade Medal by about 20 odd. Gareth polled votes in all 16 games i believe.

Absolutely he is. By his own admission he probably doesn't get to as many contests as he once did, but his size, strength and timing is immaculate.

Can completely understand why he doesn't play A Grade but he would still be a more than handy A Grade forward.

Controversial rumor from within the presentation night. Take with a pinch of salt.

The two Clare teams are going to propose that they host the Grand Final every year at Clare Oval. The motivator obviously being money, whilst they understand they cant get 100% of the $$$$ they are making the move for their own financial benefits. Rumour further to it is that South Clare in particular are in a bit of strife and struggling to make the $$$ needed to pay what they owe on the Taj Mahal.

2 clubs (not one im involved in) have said they will move leagues if such a move was to come in.

We are not blessed with great surfaces in the NEFL but yeah Snowtown and Redhill would be the two best ones. I actually don't mind Eudunda albeit the ground isn't overly flat haha. Riverton is generally ok.

The worst in the league from my experience would be Brinkworth, Clare, Mintaro and Manoora. Burra is a nightmare mainly because of the hill and the weather conditions.

Even if Clare was brilliant unless they can find a way ensure all clubs get their equal share and the two Clare clubs aren't financially greater than the rest then no ones is going to go for it.

Wouldn't it just be a case of GF at Clare hosted by who ever and that club does all the work, arranges all the volunteers and gets all the money. I have no association with any team in this league but a "main oval" isn't the worst idea as long as all clubs get their fair share. Great Southern use Noarlunga every year and not sure how that works.

It's the SFL, not Great Southern. All finals games have SFL people on the gates, clubs run the canteens/bars.

At Noarlunga for the GF, the bars & canteens are run by South Adelaide people.
