The Perth Wildcats have announced the signing of their third import Dylan Windler to a one-year deal. He's a 6'7" swingman who played with three different teams in the NBA last season New York, the LA Lakers and Atlanta and previously spent a few years with the Cleveland Cavaliers before that.

A couple of pre-season games tonight the Brisbane Bullets beat the Shanghai Sharks 94-75. Top scorers for the Bullets were Tyrell Harrison with 18 points, Deng Adel had 15 points and Mitch Norton also had 15 points. For the Sharks Cheng Liu scored 21 points, Darius Days had 14 points and Wang Zhelin also had 14 points.

Also tonight the Perth Wildcats beat an NBL1 West Select team 118-100. Top scorers for the Wildcats were Elijah Pepper with 22 points, Bryce Cotton with 19 points and Ben Henshall had 18 points and for the NBL1 West team CJ Turnage had 17 points, Marshall Nelson scored 16 points and Johny Narkle had 12 points.

The 36ers were meant to play two pre-season games against the JackJumpers in Tasmania tonight and Tuesday night but they've been cancelled due to inclement weather which saw their flight to Tassie turned back to Melbourne. The 36ers will now play their first pre-season game against the Brisbane Bullets in Mount Gambier on Wednesday September 4th.

In a pre-season game tonight the Perth Wildcats again beat the NBL1 West Select team 131-108. Top scorers for the Wildcats were David Okwera with 24 points, Bryce Cotton had 22 points and Elijah Pepper scored 21 points. For the NBL1 West team Marshall Nelson had 18 points and Tevin Jackson and Sebit Reath each scored 16 points.

The Sydney Kings have announced they've re-signed young forward Jaylin Galloway to a 3 year deal. After last season finished he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks and finished the season playing for their G-League team but didn't play an NBA game.

Former Melbourne United forward Luke Travers has signed a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In a pre-season game tonight the Brisbane Bullets beat the SE Melbourne Phoenix 92-86 in Wangaratta. Top scorers for the Bullets were Tyrell Harrison with 24 points and Deng Adel and Rocco Zikarsky each scored 16 points and for the Phoenix Malique Lewis scored 15 points and Joe Wieskamp added 14 points.

In an interesting move the Perth Wildcats have signed former 36ers import Todd Withers as a nominated replacement player. The 6'7" forward will only be able to play in games if replacing an injured or unavailable import and played in the NBL1 West during the off-season.

In a couple of lopsided pre-season games tonight the Sydney Kings beat the NZ Breakers 120-76 in Sydney. Top scorers for the Kings were Kouat Noi with 19 points, Cameron Oliver with 17 points and Keli Leaupepe had 16 points and for the Breakers Mojave King scored 22 points, Parker Jackson-Cartwright had 16 points and Mitch McCarron added 13 points.

In the other game the Perth Wildcats begun their three game pre-season tour of Japan beating the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins 117-53. Top scorers for the Wildcats were Ben Henshall with 22 points, Michael Harris had 17 points and Izan Almansa and Todd Withers each scored 11 points.

A bit of a contrast with last night because tonight Melbourne United beat SE Melbourne Phoenix in a 2OT epic 121-120. Top scorers for United were Shea Ili with 26 points, Ian Clark had 16 points and Chris Goulding added 14 points and for the Phoenix Tom Vodanovich scored 32 points, Angus Glover had 24 points and Nathan Sobey with 20 points.

Also the NBL have announced the Cairns Taipans guard Jackson Makoi has been given an 8 game suspension for being charged with a DUI on the Gold Coast with 6 of the games suspended. Makoi will be able to play in the Blitz but will be suspended for the first two games of the regular season.

I seem to recall that 36ers management were going to release what were the standards that were not being met by Ninnis.

I don’t believe that they have released anything.

The Illawarra Hawks have announced the signing of their third import Darius Days to a one-year deal. He's a 6'7" forward who has briefly played in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and played in the G-League last season. Interestingly Days played a pre-season game against the Hawks a couple of weeks ago with the Shanghai Sharks.

In a pre-season game last night the Perth Wildcats beat the Chiba Jets 88-80 in Japan. Top scorers for the Wildcats were Kristian Doolittle with 19 points, Ben Henshall with 17 points and Izan Almansa had 11 points. The Jets are now coached by ex-Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson and their imports are ex-Wildcat John Mooney, ex-Taipan/King DJ Hogg and ex-Bullet Chris Smith.

The 36ers played their first pre-season game tonight beating the Brisbane Bullets 97-96 in Mount Gambier. Top scorers for the Sixers were Kendric Davis with 25 points and Nick Marshall with 18 points and for the Bullets former Sixer Tohi Smith-Milner scored 19 points and Deng Adel had 17 points.

Also the Perth Wildcats wrapped up their tour of Japan beating the Yokohama B-Corsairs 83-77 with Bryce Cotton scoring a game-high 36 points.

Melbourne United have announced they've elevated development player signing Akech Aliir to their roster. The 6'8" forward was a DP with the 36ers last season and played for Mount Gambier in the NBL1 South during the off-season.

In some more news today the 36ers have announced the signing of Tom Kubank as a nominated replacement player. He's a 6'7" forward who plays for South Adelaide in the NBL1 Central.

Also veteran forward Cameron Gliddon has announced his retirement after a 342 game NBL career which saw him play with Cairns, Brisbane, SE Melbourne and the NZ Breakers and also on the Boomers 2019 World Cup team.

Day 1 at the Blitz in the first game Brisbane beat Tasmania 89-76. Top scorers for the Bullets were James Batemon with 20 points, Tyrell Harrison had 15 points and Casey Prather had 14 points. For the JackJumpers Jordon Crawford scored 15 points, Majok Deng had 11 points and Fabijan Krslovic added 10 points.

In the second game Melbourne beat Cairns 94-87. Top scorers for United were Ian Clark with 16 points, Chris Goulding had 15 points and Jack White had 14 points. For the Taipans Rob Edwards scored 24 points and Pedro Bradshaw and Tanner Groves each scored 15 points.

In the second game Perth beat New Zealand 108-102. Top scorers for the Wildcats were Bryce Cotton with 32 points and Keanu Pinder with 25 points and for the Breakers Parker Jackson-Cartwright scored 21 points and Mitch McCarron had 17 points.

NBA veteran Montrezl Harrell has agreed to a deal with the Adelaide 36ers, sources told ESPN.

Harrell -- a 6'7 power forward and 2020 NBA Sixth Man of the Year -- will be an injury replacement for Jarell Martin, sources said. Martin is still recovering from a patellar tendon injury and isn't expected to be available until later in the year.
