I actually had a crack at one of The Advertiser's reporters I met one day
He said "people are interested in whether they went to a private school"
Yeah right mate - I think you'll find its your obsession not others

How come you dont include a comment in every article about your boss with "Geelong Grammar College boy Rupert Murdoch" or "elite private school boy Lachlan Murdoch"

Wanker......

Absolutely gutted. COVID hits the weekend of my annual boys trip to the Flinders and the consolation prize is missing a home Showdown. Timing hey?

That really sucks mate, I think most of us on here know how you look forward to both. How's the recovery going?
Look on the bright side, you'll be right for the finals!

You have me shitting bricks with my biggest holiday since pre covid coming up in October.

Based on my last experience of a Port home showdown (thanks SANFL for the free tickets) at Footy park, you're not missing much.... ;)

But get well soon Booney!

Geez, that's no good, I know I felt like death for the first 3 or 4 days and then when I just started to perk up I got the worst sore throat in my life, is it still similar to that or is this strain behaving differently?

that not great Boon, when you mentioned it earlier in the week I thought you were still a chance to make the trip with a quick recovery.

Symptoms hit Monday, massive headache and flat as a tack. Nose running for two days and chesty cough. Had it good.

I'm most likely out of my infectious period so might make it to the footy tomorrow night.

Weak response from the Principal of Pembroke given the online "Shame file awards" by the Pembroke footy team. "Reflection of society" standard you walk by Sir is the standard you accept.

reeks of the Cranbrook scandal in Sydney earlier this year

Family member teaches at another private school in the city, says the senior boys attitude to women is toxic and one of the reasons they will be give when the resign.

Many a nose the missus and I have had to look up here in Adelaide when we've responded to what school did you go to stating a non-Adelaide private school....

Not quite sure where to stick this as it could belong in a number of threads.

My sister's neighbours husband passed away a couple of years ago so she decided to sell her house in December but asked if she could still live there with a 12 month lease.

Anywho, my sister sees her going down the road dragging a suitcase and stops in at a few houses along the way, the chick across the road went over to speak to my sister to fill her in with the goss.

The neighbour (probz late 50's, rough looking lid) had met a 29 year old good looking lad on the net and had been chatting for some time. She had somehow been catfished enough to send him money thinking that they would be meeting up some day.

Well, in excess of $450K later there is no longer contact as she tells him that she needs to see him now as he has fleeced her of all that she has and can no longer even afford to pay her rent.

I've sort of been in his boat before and they can be pretty convincing but surely there is a point as to when you stop giving them cash, I've gone along for the ride previously because I was single and bored but I just played the game knowing there would be a time where they hit me up for money but I've never been stupid enough to do so, I think to myself "while they're hassling me they are leaving some other unsuspecting bloke alone".

It's rife but people keep getting away with it and people are that naive that they let them.

An "alleged" chick that was messaging me a while back must have been chatting for about a month, impeccable grammatical skills, funny, intelligent and was overall a great conversationalist.

After a few weeks she had revealed that she was stuck in a hospital in West Nairobi after she was involved in a car accident which cost both of her parents their lives, she had no access to any of her belongings and the only way she could leave the hospital to organise her parents estate was to pay the hospital $450.

I then explained that it was her lucky day as I just happened to be travelling to West Nairobi later that week for work and I could personally deliver and pay the money owed to the hospital...........................for some reason we lost contact from then on.

I cannot imagine the pain the Stevens family has endured since the night Charlie Stevens was killed by the young driver at Goolwa last year.

As a parent my gut empties and my heart aches thinking about it.

This morning during the Matt Abraham 5AA political spot they discussed the upcoming October 7 protests around Israel etc. Grant Stevens, in his capacity as Police Commissioner, called in to discuss the police presence and the role they will play in the potentially volatile protests all the while knowing later that day he'd be in court delivering a victim impact statement nearly a year on from losing his son in the most horrific way.

His strength, his will, it defies belief.

I would put this in things you rate if in any way I felt it appropriate.

I think we have had an exceptional run of Police Commissioner’s after Salisbury.

This is on top of all the other shit flung your way as the Commissioner of Police.

Morons of the public, rouge officers, and dealing with government on a daily basis I'd more than enough in my view!

Gigi had a bad first 4 years of her life, my daughter adopted her a bit over 4 years ago and when she moved out to her new partners place Gigi couldn't go so she's been with us. She's just gone 8 and the last 4 years of her life she's got a great mate in Archie the cat, she's loved beyond belief by everyone who knows her and I take comfort in knowing how good we've made her life.

She's had some eye issues recently ( stitched shut for a month to heal properly ) , she's having a tooth removed today but they've found some tumors that aren't good. We'll monitor her over the next few months before we have to make that hard decision, which, when you love them is easier than you like to admit.

Frenchies live to 8-10 tops, she's done ok.

Dogs really are the best people...

I hope that everything works out OK mate... :(

We are currently dealing with an issue for our oldest dog who is 13.5. A little Maltese Lhasa Apso, who has just stopped eating over the last week. Well he would eat but then 20 minutes later throw up. He is still happy, but lethargic and the vet things it is a bit of an issue with the stomach lining being inflamed. He has started to be able to keep a bit of food down, but he is still not eating enough. We have had a bit of a chat with the kids to prepare them for what may have to happen. He has another vet visit at the end of the week to see how he is progressing...
