Good news considering what was expected

Fair bit they need improve on, however the intent on Friday night was the most pleasing part. The first time I’ve seen Adelaide in 10 years play somewhat well without their best 4-5 players either not playing or really contributing. Easily the best they have played without Walker in the side in a very long time.

Brodie Smith in his last season?

Reading that he was in May getting close to a trigger for a one year extension but since then has not featured regularly.

Nowhere near the player he was.

Losing Sloane, Tex and Smith in the one year is a big hit for an already struggling side.

With one already gone I don't think you would want to cut either of the other 2 yet in case you end up losing all 3 in one go. Will be a definite leadership black hole if they all go.

Unless they have a Free agent lined up.

Plenty of coin freed up so surely they have someone lined up.
Oliver maybe but he’s not a leader as such

They’ll keep Tex.

He’d be on significantly less to play next season.

Doubting Smith or Sloane would be on big contracts either

I'm not sure I get the Crows leadership group.

Dawson is a given, think he makes a fine captain. But the rest...

That, and he agreed to be paid his Crows Shop wage to be in the side.

Captain: Dawson - inspired choice, really rate him.

Vice: Brodie Smith - has fallen off a cliff, and would be goneskis at season's end if he doesn't hit the contract trigger.
Vice: Ben Keays - good honest trier, makes the most with what he's got. Not sure that's leadership material, but at least it's something
Vice: Reilly O’Brien - in one week, out the next. Like Keays, is a trier, but if the coaching team doesn't rate him, why put him as VC?

Leadership Group: Darcy Fogarty - I honestly thought this was an April Fools announcement. Not sure how or why the club appointed him captain when Keays & ROB were playing last week. Still yet to fulfill any "potential", still looks heavy, both of which don't give off leadership vibes.
Leadership Group: Lachlan Murphy - the SA Footy board's favourite. Still doubts as to whether he's best 22 or not (imo, absolutely not).
Leadership Group: Wayne Milera - poor bugger can't get his body right, hard to lead from the sidelines
Leadership Group: Mitch Hinge - interesting call. As an outside observer, can come across a bit petulant and prone to the odd brain fart. At 26, you'd think this would be behind him.

Without going down this path again, you don’t have to be a great player to be a great leader.

Look at John Howard, shithouse cricketer ;)

Maybe they should change it around weekly like we use to in U/9’s?
